Just like to post an update on my experience with radio code problem.and you were right Dave I did have the wrong code.
In despair I went to my local VX dealer and a very helpful sales guy came out to my car took my radio out for me confirmed I had a different radio to the one described on the code card, informed me that for a reasonable £16.00 they would obtain the correct code for me within 4 hours they called me at home with the  correct code and bingo problem solved.I would like to give a pat on the back to  S.Thompson cars of Walsall and their very helpful sales guy who went out of his way to help me  :y :y :y :y :y
