Hi, I have had the above radio for some time now and had it paired with the Nokia E65 phone with no problems. However I have now got a Nokia N81 8Gb and am having a problem getting it to auto connect with the radio. The radio finds the phone when I get in the car and connects and then immediately disconnects within a couple of seconds. I have set the radio to authorised on the phone, also if i tell the phone to connect, it will do so and stay connected until I switch off the ignition, then starts connecting and immediately disconnecting all the time next time I switch on the ignition. Does anyone else have this combination, and does it work alright?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Lost dash lights!
« on: 24 June 2007, 19:12:25 »
Hi, I have just had to remove and re-install the radio, after re-fitting I find that the dash lights and the switch illumination no longer work, the illumination for the gear selector is out as well. Has anyone any idea what is causing this, does the wiring for these run behind the radio?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Aerial Cable
« on: 13 May 2007, 16:35:46 »
Hi, I am sure I have seen somewhere that the aerial cable is joined in the front footwell, is this correct, and how can you replace the piece from there to the radio unit?

« on: 21 March 2007, 13:58:41 »
Hi, I need to get at the plugs for the window switches in the centre console, I assume that the console has to be removed, is this a difficult job or can the average muppet do it?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Pioneer DEH-P75BT
« on: 04 March 2007, 18:31:49 »
Hi, has anyone else fitted one of these headunits? LB kindly fitted this one for me a few weeks ago. I am made up with the sound quality(without seperate amplifier) but have a couple of issues with the bluetooth side of it. 1) After initial setting up with my phone (Motorola L6), it should detect the phone every time I get in the car and set up the phone automatically, it doesn't do this, I have to tell the phone to detect the Pioneer every time, both phone and headunit are set to auto detect. 2) When the phone is registered with the headunit and the phonebook is transferred to the headunit, after switching off the radio it loses all the phonebook entries. 3) Is there any way to adjust the volume on the microphone, even with the microphone directly in front of me I can hardly be heard by the person I am calling.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Replacement Radio For Omega CDX
« on: 03 December 2006, 18:41:11 »
Hi All, can anyone suggest a suitable replacement for the radio I have fitted at present, I have the Phillips CRT 700?, I think that is the model, it has the intergrated telephone. I would like a cd changer setup, as at present, or one that will play DVD music discs. It must be capable of being connected to the steering wheel remotes and preferably still show on the MID display, I realise to acheive this I will need adaptors. Can anyone recommend a make and model of radio, tell me what adaptors I will need, and how much approximately it will cost me?  Many thanks,  p.s the car is a 1999 2.5 CDX Omega (Mini Facelift)

Omega General Help / Air Con Problem
« on: 23 July 2008, 20:10:14 »
Hi All, the air con does not blow very cold air out. I took it to be checked to Halfords, they said it was o.k. it did not need gas. The engine note changes when you switch between eco and air con on, so I assume the compressor is working, the air temperature changes from hot to cold if you alter the setting, so I assume the flaps work as well. I know the gas has never been changed since the car was new, could this be affecting it, does the gas need changing or is it a case of if there is gas there it should work?

Omega General Help / Shocks Time
« on: 28 November 2007, 12:08:06 »
Hi all, it is replacement time for the shock absorbers, I believe the backs are fairly easy to do, are the front shocks an easy job to do. Does anyone local to me fancy earning some cash doing them for me? I used to do all my own repairs but I am at the age now where I can still lie on the floor, just have a problem gettting back up again. :(

Omega General Help / Remote key
« on: 03 August 2007, 20:21:05 »
Hi All, I bought a key fob off Ebay as mine is starting to disintergrate internally. I took it to a garage with a tech2 to get it programmed to the car, unfortunately he said it couldn't be done as it is the wrong one, but they both look identical. Are there more than one type of fob for this design? It is the type that has two buttons and the stainless bar at the top for the key ring. If there is more than one make how do I tell them apart?

Omega General Help / Auto Transmission Problem
« on: 11 May 2007, 13:10:37 »
Hi All, had a problem yesterday when I lost the instruments, climate contrtol, hazard light and interior light, drove to work ok this morning without these but when I came to go home the auto box started juddering and reving the engine only moved the car very slowly, just like driving with the brakes on. I found a blown fuse in the panel by the steering column, I replaced this and all the electrics came back on, but the problem with the gearbox still persists, is the gearbox fault just a coincidence or might it be related to the electical fault?

Omega General Help / Vauxhalls Robin Hood strikes again!
« on: 25 April 2007, 15:12:00 »
Went to the local Masterfit at Vaux agent today to ask about the price for a back box fitted, keeping a straight face he quoted £210! Are they gold plated, and £80 per hour labour is ridiculous, although I know there are Vaux agents out there that charge more than that, it is nearly half a weeks wages to me to pay one hours labour. Are they easy to do with just axle stands , if I can get one trade I might have a go myself. Anyone have the part number for the 1999 2.5 V6 back box?

Omega General Help / Exhaust and MPG
« on: 20 April 2007, 12:17:35 »
Hi All, can anyone tell me if an exhaust fault can increase your MPG, my back box has blown the stuffing out of it, since then my round town consumption has gone from 20.2 average MPG, to 17.7 MPG according to the MID.
