I wonder how much it costs.
At my BP garage the "ordinary" Ultimate is 14p a litre more than their unleaded.

It says in the bumf that it works on really high revving engines. I'm not sure that it would make much difference on a n/a 2.5/2.6/3.0/3.2 v6 engine. It might work on a four pot that has been turbo'd.
(BTW are there any super tuned four pot omegas out there)

If it had a lot higher compression it would be ideal - would not need too much of it either as the other market for very high octane petrol are cars converted to use the very high octane of LPG.

Once you've got a fuel with a sufficient octane rating to allow your engine to run without knock at its' optimum level of ignition advance under all conditions there is no benefit in going any higher. In fact, the additives used to stabilise the fuel might actually reduce its' calorific value giving you less power.

All engines used in Omegas probably achieve this with the best quality 95 RON fuel and certainly with 97/99 (although it would be nice to log what's going with the knock retard, as an indicator of fuel quality if nothing else). If you up the compression the requirement for high octane fuel, and the ability to extract more power from it, increase.

So, this fuel might give the serious tuner the ability to build a more extreme engine (which would then rely on this fuel) but to a standard car it's probably not worth bothering with.

Dunno about 2.0 Omegas Mole, but there's a Lotus Carlton replica on TotalCarlton that's got a tuned C20LET, (turbocharged 2.0 16v!!).

I've seen a NATASP C20XE make over 300BHP @ 9K RPM on a well known (accurate) rolling road. I guess that classes as pretty well tuned.

The sound of the thing was enough to raise hackles!
