These sound like the sort of lads that stay up late enough at night wondering what kissing a girl is like, that you should be asking!

Betcha you can't fit Commodore VX headlights to fit a F/L Omega. Actually, I know you can't!
Or a front wing.
Or a roof panel.
Or a front bulkhead.

Yes, I see the same platform - pretty obvious, but then to say that, Carlton 3/Omega A has the same platform as Omega B - and most things won't fit directly, there are alot of differences - including the basic monocoque.
I also bet a Carlton rear parcel shelf won't fit a VP Commodore, a VN Commodore front door won't fit an Omega B....................
The same platform is the carriage at the factory that - with changes - is used for cars that wear a different badge, but each model keeps it's own identity -unless the same car is sold in different countries - Omega A in Europe is Carlton 3 in UK is Chevrolet Omega in South America, and the only real differences are badges and whether right or left hand drive. Specs for electrical equipment differs from country to country, let alone continent to continent.

From the commodore site that Black Diamond geezer sent me, this looks like the basic Omega shell with a different front and back end, same door handles and same door mirrors a a facelift omega from what I can see....

A Commodore Station wagon:

This looks very close to a facelift Omega estate, looks like the exact same doors, door handles side windows etc.. as mine, looks like similar shaped tail lights as mine...

Either the car is longer or the rear doors are smaller than our Omega's - Omega rear doors close onto the arch, those ones don't.

Those strips down the roof from the roof bars are where the extra width  ::) is present.

Didn't spot that about the doors right enough, but I have joined a commodore owners site and will soon be getting answers on measurements.

I know that the exhausts are different as most of thier v6's run a single pipe front the cat back, so zorst systems are out....

Not sure if i am confident with your answer on the strips though.....  from the rear view the car doesnt look any wider...  thier number plate recess is smaller and could be giving the impression of a wider tailgate

From wikipedia:

GM V platform (RWD)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
For the front-wheel drive automobile platform of the same name, see GM V platform (FWD).

Opel Commodore B (1972–1977)The V platform is a rear-wheel drive automobile platform that underpinned various General Motors (GM) vehicles from 1967 through to its final discontinuation in 2007. The V platform was developed in the 1960s by the European division of GM, Opel, however, it was not without significant revision over its lifetime. The platform's phase-out began when European production ended during 2003, while the Australian variants, produced by Holden continued until 2007, after their final replacement by Zeta-derived models. The first of these Zeta cars came in 2006, with the remaining changing over in 2007. V-cars are identified by the "V" fourth character in their Vehicle Identification Number. Although completely unrelated, the "V platform" designation was also used for a series of North American front-wheel drive personal luxury coupes (see: GM V platform (FWD)).

I wasn't getting testy, dude - just trying to point out that there are quite a few differences, is all.
A few mm here, a few mm there - as they say on Tesco ads - every little helps.

It,s mainly mechanical parts that I am after, such as, brakes, suspension, exhaust manifolds(or headers as they call them) and systems but with the different wdith, I am assuming that the floor plan is different?  Also I am unable to find a 3.0l listing in the Commodore range...?
he never mentioned bodykits
