My favourite car and would be my lotto win choice  :y
Without wanting to dis your fave car, only view I've seen is of the rear of it on the motorway, absolutely awful looking thing... IMO of course. :y

It is a Marmite type of thing; I love the styling and brand, but agree the estate is muh better looking.
I was blown away by the actual car too-superb quality throughout and a range of engines and boxes for everyone's taste.

Worth going to a dealer just to have a nose-surprised the hell out of me  :y

Quite nice cars, I drove a brand new one (tiptronic type - 1.9 Turbo) and must admit to being quite impressed.

2 downsides for me, cramped seating area and FWD, brakes were fantastic.

I was surprised how good the Superb is; more cabin space than Omega but seats are padded to feel narrower, more legroom in rear, 4wd versions available if front drive is not your thing  :y

The 1.9 turbo diesel* or 1.4TSI are not the best, but the CR170 TDI rocks; that with 4x4 and DSG in estate form would be my choice  :y

*the Greenline Superb is the Eco model and gets a detuned 1.9 TDI; these are a surberb lease deal-but I am talking lotto win.  Stuff it, let's go for the 3.6 4x4  ;D

Just noticed the 8k budget...new Superb too much!

Does a last gen (alu body) XJ 3.0 fall into the pricing now?

Nice one of those, gassed?

I think the Audi A8 is the closest :y
Time to fess up - I went for the A8 when I could not find the sensible mileage (not too high or low) Elite I wanted.  It's fab but oh so complex...............and 'having nightmares about the maintenance cost!  ::)

Quite like these myself.

yep.. thinking similiar here..

but was considering either a manual 2.0 or an auto 2.4 accord .. must be a 4 pot under these economic conditions.. They are mostly robust cars..

also Honda parts can be found easily here..

if one day budget goes better, definitely bimmer..

Despite their underpinnings and quality foibles I would still consider an X Type

Cheap as chips now too
