Title: Bargain of the year?
Post by: Bigron on 19 August 2018, 15:02:34
If you like sparkling spring water - calorie, sugar and guilt free - Lidl are currently offering 2 litre bottles for 17 pence! Yep, seventeen pence.
At the tills, they had 500ml bottles of the same product for 21 pence: guess which one I chose?
No prizes awarded, and no insults, please.....

Ron.

P.S. Diabetics like me can drink as much as we want with no problems.

You chose the 500ml ones because it was easier to carry then to the car Ron, plus in all the excitement you forgot to put your Car Reg Number at the Till and now expect a £80 fine from Lidl / Euro Car Parks for using there Services.  ;D  ;)

Ron may be 'too posh' to do that.

Perhaps he is part of the London metropolitan elite. :)

The clue is in the name 'Sparkling Water'.  Tastes nothing like still water of either bottled, or tap variety.  It's also something which Diabetics can drink plenty of without problem.  :y

What part of "no insults" did you not understand?
Foolish of me to expect compliance, in view of which Forum I am on!
Zirk, this particular Lidl does not have such pernicious devices as spy cameras - and I used a trolley for my 12 bottles of bubbly water!
There was a local tavern nearby, but their fizzy water was brown, flavoured and a lot more that 17 p per litre.
Albs, you KNOW what's wrong with tap water; when was the last time you drank it?
Ah, now you have me, Dr. Opti. As you can see, I am a Baron.
Dave, you have it in a nutshell.  :y

Being a pensioner I expect you bought 4 x 500ml as they will fit in the water carrier on your pushbike, to rehydrate and recover several times between a long downhill ride from your garage to the pavement and then pushed it back with several stops up your drive into the garage. You had to ration the mere 500ml bottle as it was such a long exhausting journey especially the cat 1 climb home. :-[ :P

Lucky as a pensioner that you had 84p in 1p coins that you got right on the 7th recount when paying the checkout girl, while ignoring the sighs and tut, tuts in the long queue behind you. :-[ :P

Me I haven't been to Lidl shopping for 6 weeks, so stocked up on 18 500ml bottles of water that contain 4.8% alcohol and two bottles of 750ml of white wine and 3 of red. ;) Bought other groceries but where I'm a sucker for new tools and it was tool Sunday bought set of offset ratchet ring spanners, T-handle hex and star set, some hand tools, new wood saw set as mine are getting blunt, 90deg drill attachment which I keep promising to buy each time I need one and drill milling set which are great for opening holes. So at £122 ended up spending more than I intended. :-[

You certainly geta better class of pisstake on here!
The long delay whilst counting out my pennies at the till is to get a better look at the rather nice girl there, in her low-cut top, and 'dangle berries' to those behind me in the queue!  :P

Yes.....tell them that you fought a war for the likes of them. That will impress them, Ron. :)

There certainly is: I could 'P off' Ron by suggesting those wars were too recent, so what about the War of the Roses, 30 years war or English Civil War? :P :P :P ;D ;D ;D
