Title: Solar Sensor

Had heat reflective screen fitted in the DTi now for about four months but never bothered to check before.

Is the heat reflective screen obvious by just looking at it ? My car has a screen from a 2002 (iirc) model fitted with rain sensor type fitting,so wondered if it might be a heat reflecting screen. :-\

Has a blue / purple tint to it looking from the outside. Very obvious.  :y

Yours has the standard screen, not heat reflective.  :y

Still in 2 minds as to whether to have one fitted to mine... can't decide if it will look right with black paintwork, especially if all the other windows are tinted...  :-X

Just tint the front screen as well and drive by braille. :y

Have to say, In the summer I did notice the difference, especially when the car was parked up all day while at work - I pulled the sunroof blind across and the rear screen blind up and in the afternoon the sun moves across the the front of the car, car was definitely cooler when I got into it after work.

This is the main reason I was thinking of swapping mine for one... Being a black estate, with black leather interior, you can imagine it gets a little warm at times...  ::)

I have one
Had it fitted to Miggy a few months ago
It's a GM OE spec(came from Germany)
Certainly has a bluish purple tint when viewed from the outside
I'm going to have it removed from Miggy along with other stuff before she's crushed
Seems a shame to destroy such a usefull item of equipment
Although I didn't care for the colour with Miggy's Oyster colour
Might look better with Migsy's Star Silver I'll try it up against her when I have it loose
If I don't like it I'll offer it up on the Forum :y :y

;D ;D  Not on your nelly! IMHO black is by far the best colour for an Omega, and I can't imagine it being anything else.  :y

It's nearly as good as the 'uncommon' Z157 Star Silver  ::) ;D
There's at least two saloons round here in that shade!

Had heat reflective screen fitted in the DTi now for about four months but never bothered to check before.

There is a difference in de code index for a normal and a heat reflective windscreen in the ECC.

I had a feeling you might know the answer to that one Peter.  :y

I promised to offer up the Heat Reflective Windscreen I had on Miggy as I can say I won't be haveing it fitted to Migsy

Have to say that I didn't like that the bluish/purple tint contrasted even more against the lighter Star Silver of Migsy than the darker Oyster Silver of Miggy

Anyhow I'm going to post the details in Items for sale if your interested :y

I also have a heat reflective windscreen in the silver Mv6 I'm breaking, I thought the slight bluish tinge looked good against the silver paint.
