Title: mobile mechanic wanted for 02 2.2Dti estate repairs in Sussex
Post by: amazonian on 03 September 2015, 00:33:30

I need the following jobs doing  and wondered if there was anyone willing/able to do em for me?
I would MUCH rather pay someone who knew what they were doing from this forum than use a local garage.

Heres a rough list of stuff that I think needs doing,

1, maybe wishbones, and/or bushes and maybe shock absorbers ( I need someone to have a look at all of these to advise me what is needed ).
2,  thermostat and whatever else goes with it.
3,  Temperature sensor.
4,  injector top seal
5,  4x leak off pipes
6,  one way valve (primer bulb) on fuel line
7,  check rear cooling fan relay
8,  check air con
9,  oil and filter change
10, check why exhaust emission light came on
11, generally check car out to see if it needs anything else doing to it,

Does not seem to be anyone on here that I can see who is interested in working on the 2.2 Dti,  but just thought I would ask again.

If not I think it will have to go (ouch! that hurt)

Cheers.   :)   :)

I can have a look, and provide advice, from there, but be aware I don't do a great deal when it comes to suspension work.

2,  thermostat and whatever else goes with it.
Yep, not a problem.

3,  Temperature sensor.
Again, not a problem

4,  injector top seal
I'll have to invest in a couple of additional tools for this, but should be fine.

5,  4x leak off pipes
No problem :y

6,  one way valve (primer bulb) on fuel line
Yep :y

7,  check rear cooling fan relay
Yep :y

8,  check air con
I can certainly have a look at the condition of the components, and look for any dye leaks etc. I can't re gas though.

9,  oil and filter change
No problem

10, check why exhaust emission light came on
No problem

11, generally check car out to see if it needs anything else doing to it,
No problem

It's not that I'm not interested as such. I know the V6 intimately.... and would turn my hand to anything engine wise... I don't consider myself experienced with the DTi, but, I am increasing my knowledge having owned one and done most of the above jobs on my own... so happy to help on that basis..

If not I think it will have to go (ouch! that hurt)

Nah.... mine has nearly been to the moon, and it's still going strong :y :y

Suspension work I would gladly do, but I don't currently have the time to attend to either of mine, let alone anyone elses...

Aircon is likely to be the condenser, again no big dealz and about the only thing the rest of your list doesn't include is brakes ::)

Oooh, looks like there may be hope after all then!

Thanks for the response chaps, as to the wishbone thing Al is it something you may be able to do in the near(ish) future or must I count you out?
If so is it something I could entrust to my local garage to do properly or not?

JamesV6CDX, I would definitely like to take you up on your offer if you can, at your convenience of course.

I am just trying to keep the old gal on the road as shes not in bad nick.

Thanks lads
