Title: Coolant losses
Post by: Pmacca2000 on 07 November 2017, 16:14:51
Over the last few months I’ve had a slow but consistent drop in the coolant level, first time the V6 got a can belt, water pump and thermostat as it was leaking.
There were cam cover gaskets and leads as she was leaking oil, the second time she was compression tested to make sure the head gaskets weren’t leaking and they are ok.
Has anyone on here had any issues like this and where’s the coolant actually likely to be going?
There are no signs under the omega at all so far

In no particular order...
Failed radiator, failed heater matrix, failed heater bypass valve, failed header tank, failed thermostat transfer pipe, failed oil cooler plate...*

For failed, read leaking  ;)

Thanks Doctor, looks like the next few weeks will be expensive ☹️

They shouldn't be, easy enough to pressure test the cooling system and look for leaks.  :y

HBV dripping onto the big stainless pipe at the back and evaporating off.  Hence you can't see any drips.  ;)
