Title: What could this oil leak be?
Post by: terry paget on 19 June 2018, 09:01:35

This e-bay might be simpler to get through MOT than my son's rusty 2.2. It needs a new exhaust, its lights buffing up, and the oil leak sorting. My hunch is cam cover gasket incorrectly fitted.
Any thoughts?

I take it that you have checked, and read the MoT history :-\

As well as listing, budget for rear springs and welding as a minimum...

I have checked MOT history. My tester seems to pass rusty rear springs, if not broken. I am prepared for welding of cills if required, though my 2 X reg estates did not need it. I have a spare radio. I see the 'dangerous' oil leak appeared on the last 2 MOTs, after a cam cover gasket change. It's left hand side too, difficult side for cam cover gasket change.
