Ive had this problem too recently, took it to be decoded they done it(28quid) and luckly i tried the code in the car park,it was wrong.........took it back in,he hooked it up to his box of tricks and the code hade been "miss red" by one digit.Plugged it in and hey presto the code worked. What im saying is it my be worth taking it back and them checking the code again.

The bloke who done mine said miss reading is common on vauxhall units.

Hope this helps.........by the way the radio is crap now its working..........terrible quality.Never mind.

Here, Here,  It's a big No. No, if you look inside a tubeless, there are ribs, these cause friction on a tube,  BANG!   Tubed tyres are smooth ans don't cause friction.....

Please DON'T..

Thanks chaps, your all wright,i was clutching at straws.

Just been to price up some new rims so watch this space saver....lol

Untill then its on with the "stone age" steely.

Omega General Help / Get you home tyre stuff???
« on: 24 January 2007, 21:48:35 »
Ok, as you may or may not no,im having problems with my front right "toffee" made irmscher wheel. There is a chunk out of the inside, probably buckled etc bla bla bla.

No one can get a inner tube in a 45 profile tyre, no one can weld it up and fix it near were i live, and im fed up off pumping it up every two days.

My question is,shall i bodge it and spray that expanding get u home tyre stuff in it,(rally style) and leave it for a while.

If so will it still take a pumping up every now and then? (oo err) with that stuff in it,will it be like driving on a cement wheel(hard)?............just something a tad more perminant and sturdy till i find a spare or some new rims.......

Ta chaps

If you lower the car, you'll HAVE to fit a camber adjusting kit. Otherwise you'll be trashing new tyres in less than 1000 miles. Regal Auto do a kit for about £200 (I think that's what I paid, but it was about 3 years ago !).
You'll then need to have the steering geometry adusted.
The four wheel alignment that you get at "Kwik Fleece" etc is not what you need if lowering a car. You'll need to contact your nearest Performance Car/Rally preparation centre.
Also if you're gonna run a 45 profile you'll need 17" rims otherwise your rolling radius is gonna be wrong. You should be running 15" already so 16" are neither here nor there.
You could fit 19" with no arch modifications on the Omega... but the cost of the rubber would be as much as for the rims and it's just not practical on u.k roads.
I'm running 235/45-17 with 40mm lowered springs and new (but std) Monroe Shox. I reckon 30mm lowered would be better, as I've had to junk the under engine splash guard (Damn speed humps !!).
Mind you, just a new set of 17" rims with the 45 profile rubber will make a big difference as there is significantly less flex in the tyre wall than the standard "mini bus" tyres.

Jesus................i think ill leave it alone and just buy a air freshner..

Omega General Help / 5 stud wheels???
« on: 21 January 2007, 15:22:15 »
What other 5 stud wheel will fit the vauxhall omega? i parked next to a volvo today and his wheels would have looked good on mine............My drivers side wheel is buckled so they need changing,im thinking of 16" steels (a bit stronger)with 225/45/16 tyres, lower it with some g-max springs and get the tracking and wheel allined.

Thanks to everyone for reply-ing to my first "hello and welcome" .The advise is welcome, interesting to hear it seams a common problem.

The tyres on these things are huge though arnt they? (its the irmshcer kited one) and was wandering if it could be "tyre creep" following camber etc but anyway im going to demon tweeks today to see how much for full shocks, springs and a geometry check............eeek best not tell the wife.

By the way officer dibble i didnt reach 100 in 3rd the other day..............lol which is why im here,my car pulls cleaner in 4th 3rd seams like it accelerates in stages,up to 3000 ok,then a slight hesitation then it kicks in again whats all that about? is it the cams kicking in? its not the clutch slipping as ive done the normal testes i just take it as a charcter of the engine.......
