Are the wiring looms the same or do they change for different engine sizes trim levals ect.
ie would the loom be the same for a 98 manual 2.0 gls  and a 98 auto  2.5 cdx.

Omega General Help / Air-con removal

Hi all im removing the air-con system from my car and does anyone know if the fan that sits infront of the radiators is for the air-con or normal cooling as well.  Also is there a blanking plate/cover avaliable that seals the hole where the pipes enter the interior through the bulkhead.

Omega General Help / fuel gauge

Does anyone know if you can change the fuel gauge on the dash or is it a complete unit as i think mine is sticking  because  its saying that ive used 40lts of petrol and ive only done 80 miles. I cant find any leaks and it passes an emisions test..

Any ideas or poss reasons  very welcome.

Does anyone what the big bushes are on the rear subframe ( i think they are insulator bushes) and how hard are they to change.   Do i have to take the rear subframe out or can i do it in situ.  Are any special tools needed ie specific press  ( i do have full workshop facilities and a very comprehensive tool kit).  And where can i get them from or should i just stick with gen vx..

does anyone know whats different between the 2.0  284mm and the 296mm front discs (and dont say 12mm)       is it pads calipers and carriers or just the carriers and pads.

Omega General Help / Diff rebuild

Hi all i am goin to rebuild my diff and was wondering if any one could tell me if the bearings and oil seals are the same on all diffs as i am combining a non lsd and a lsd.
Also (i know im being cheeky)would anyone have part numbers for them as my local dealers are useless.

Omega General Help / VERY LOW MPG

Does anyone have any ideas why my 98 2.0 gls manual only does abouut 18-20 mpg around town after head gasket change.  Its done 104k serviced every year had new cat and exhaust head was skimed new valve stem seals etc lambda sensor checked and working emmisions well below mot standard at idle and 3000 rpm.
Any help or advice very welcome

sorry should have mentioned that before head gasket went i was getting 28-30mpg

Omega General Help / upgrading antiroll bars

Hi all i want to upgrade my anti roll bars as it feels a bit wallowy (even affter its been droped 50mm).
I have a 98 2.0lt gls 16v salon manual with 104k on it. Does anyone know if the 2.5 3.0, auto or estate front and rear are stonger and will they fit (i know i'll have to change the  D bushes).

As above I need 4.  Wheels were off a 98 mini facelift 2lt. They're 15" wheels. I also need the locking bolts that hold them on + key.

I have two of the above that I no longer need both in quite  good condition tread is between 5mm and 7mm( 5mm on inside 6mm in middle 7mm on outside) no side wall or tread  damage.   I'm after around £15 each collected or +postage. I can fit them if needed for a very small charge.

As above after everything aircon related from engine bay for 1998 2.0   ie compressor, radiator(condensor) all pipes brackets(exc compressor bracket)etc.
