For those who may know, would a 2.2DTi Elite have the CID plug and the extra lines to the original connector to support the GID / CID operation? Obviously not a major problem if not, just need to obtain another TM Loom!

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Fusing the powersounder
« on: 01 June 2010, 21:02:33 »
I think Kevin Wood has discussed this before now. I'm considering fitting an inline fuse in the powersounder +12V feed, Where would be the best place to tap into the loom (I'm guessing the nearer the battery the better) and what fuse rating would be best?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Estate Bose
« on: 16 March 2010, 17:59:27 »
Never see the boot install in an estate, I presume the sub box fits in the left hand compartment which normally houses the first aid kit but where does the amp live?

Thanks in advance.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Bose Speakers
« on: 30 November 2009, 09:39:24 »
Are the prefacelift Bose door speakers the same physical size as the facelift ones? ie. will prefacelift speakers fit to a facelift?

I guess the door tweeters may be different due the different location.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / NCDC/R parts request
« on: 03 June 2009, 20:16:23 »
Don't suppose anyone has any spare parts for any of the NCDC/R head units by any chance?

My trusty power supply decided to change it's output from 12V to something nearer 35V while I was twiddling with a NCDC2015.... I thought the GID went a little bright  ;D

Specifically looking for the rear board  that has the rear connections attached to it - 197373-458.00 4B (05), underside has a barcode 2703205326.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CID No map display
« on: 02 May 2009, 15:43:46 »
I'm sure this has been covered before, just been swapping over my 2013 & CID for a 2015, CID & telematics, all installed and working with no problem except full maps aren't displaying on the screen - just a black screen with the menu box.

Has GPS - knows where it is
2008 CD is a good original version
All other CID functions work
All connectors firmly seated

Can anyone remember what causes this?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Dash Clock swap
« on: 24 February 2009, 20:42:10 »
The car is a 3.2 Auto 2003MY, the replacement clocks have the P/N 09 228 419AS which EPC informs me is 'for Vauxhall, X25XE, Y26SE, X30XE, Y32SE'

So if I were to simply swap the clocks over would any Tech II calibration / programming be required?

I'm presuming not as the Rev counter and speedo surely work from the rear prop' ABS pulses (wheel speed) and fuel level and temp is standard across all petrol V6 models.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Telematics lead
« on: 22 February 2009, 21:35:58 »
Question for TB / MDTM really, does this look like it will do the job?

The loom between the ISO's is about 28cm from plug to socket, the tails will obviously be joined to the Telematics plug and loom when I next pick it up.

Sorry about the photo quality!  :-[

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Battery acid tank
« on: 10 February 2009, 18:38:35 »
Just replaced the battery in my Omega, I noticed that the new one has a plastic bung in one end which if I remember correctly is where you can clip an acid expansion tank on the side?

I know my old Vectra had this fitted but was wondering if it needs to be fitted or not? I would assume that it's only in extreme circumstances that the acid would need to escape?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CID problem
« on: 06 February 2009, 16:16:18 »
What would cause a CID to switch itself on when the car is unattended?

I have a Nokia CK-7W attached to the prewiring so I wondered if it could be a problem there or maybe a problem with the headunit not making a good contact with the ISO plug?

Ideas?

Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Elite Seat base control
« on: 26 January 2009, 20:15:47 »
Is there a knack to pushing the switch front for the seat base position control back onto the switches?

Mine seems to have suffered from the previous driver being a little heavy handed and seems unclipped at the top.

Thanks

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Routing of extra loom
« on: 22 January 2009, 10:42:31 »
Question for those that have done this  ::), on a facelift is it easier to connect your modded TM loom from behind the Head unit cage (from the back of the dash / passenger side) or to take the head unit cage out?

This is to connect my TM - Telematics loom  :y

Many thanks
Andy

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Telematics
« on: 15 December 2008, 17:36:26 »
What's involved in the installation of one of these?

I know it has a seperate antenna connection and I presume it plugs into the Telephone prewiring but is there anything else? Is the CAN connection included in the prewiring - I assume it needs CAN to interface to the head unit for the controls????

Also are the units coded? If so can they be uncoded?

Thanks in advance.
Andy.

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I can't find the thread!

1) Where is the best Earth / 0V point in the boot of a saloon and is there an easy connection point to this?

2) Where is there a permanent live somewhere around the dash / centre console area (I already have a telemute lead and a Nokia kit connected to the phone prewiring so don't want to overload that particular circuit), the supply lead has a 10 Amp fuse in-line (but the spec sheet says max current draw is 690mA????).

I know the rear accesory socket must be rated to 10 Amps (unless the calculation of W = V x A has changed since I went to school!  ;D) but it's on the multitimer so drops to 0 after 10 mins or so.....

Thanks
Andy

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Cheap HID bulbs
« on: 28 October 2008, 08:57:06 »
Does anyone know where to get either Phillips or Bosch 6000K HID bulbs at decent prices?

Think i'm going to put my original 4300K Phillips bulbs back in as intermittently the ebay specials won't strike. This can be either side at any random time so i'm sure it's not the igniters coupled with the fact that when the phillips bulbs were in they struck first time every time.

Nice job to do at night in the freezing cold!
