I had to catch a bus the other day :-[
Talk about crap service :(
2 o'clock in the afternoon on a packed bus full of pensioners(sorry older members,eh nearly there :y) and freaks ,for 1.75 hours(25 mins in a car)
The government want more people to use public transport, when the PT network cannot cope as it is.
Forget fuel protests, they won't get you anywhere

LETS HAVE A LEAVE YOUR CAR AT HOME AND USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT DAY.
GOVERNMENT :-[
I WONDER WHAT % OF WORKERS WOULD ACTUALLY MAKE IT TO WORK :exclamation
According to the timetable sites, my commute to work (to get there around 9ish), will take around 14hrs. Trip home (leave 5ish) can be done in a mere 7hrs.

Doubt it will achieve much. What can it achieve?

OPEC indirectly set the price, government hasn't the power to do too much about that.

Governement, and particularly that idiot of a Mayor, are hell bent on us getting electric cars because they think we are stupid enough to believe they are greener, so they will welcome petrol shortages, stating that it shows we need to reduce our reliance on oil
But it does have the power to reduce the big fat wedge of pie it takes by ways of taxation >:(
Not really, as when we are forced to have electric cars, they will remember how environmentally unfriendly they are and start taxing leccy.

Never liked the Mondeo in any shape or form
I was OK in Jag form...

I agree. I worked on the launch of the S and X types...I love them both.

So...if anyone has anything bad to say about them, the complaint department is open

Bad trim
engines put together shoddy (seen them manufactured)
can tell its Ford, plastic crap.
basically, a bag of Sh"t,  IMHO.

Not the true Jag

But as said many times on here, each to their own
The new jag does not utilise a shared platform.

The motoring press are full of praise for the Mondeo though... clearly their standards are low or there is an element of "you scratch my back..."
Yes, but the same press have nothing but praise for the Focus, which is one of the worse handling cars I've driven since they made the Escort.

At least it has proper indicators (take note GM!)

Having used an Astra H last week as a hire car I know what you mean. I think I'd need longer to get used to them, a quick flick gives 2 or 3 flashes whether you want them all or not.  :-/
Doesn't take long & are much better IMO..
I agree, and I miss them...

I nearly bought one, many years ago. It was advertised as "light under bonnet fire", so I went to look. Firstly, the under bonnet fire might have been light, but the burnt out interior meant massive amounts of work, and when I did an HPI on it, I found it had been previously written off. Also he was calling it a GLS, where it was actually a base model, known as "Select". Needless to say I didn't buy it. It sounds like GM didn't have the 16valve engine ready when the Omega was first introduced.

Ken
The 16v unit was available.  The 8v was a cheapo special...

Rare, but do exist.  Bit like the 2.0 diesel...

2,0 diesel????

what engine is that then?

97/98 to 2000 ish....2.0DTi

so not the quickest thing in the world then
sluggish in a vectra and early zafaira. both lighter cars....
