Please Could anyone confirm if the top and bottom rubber seats  which  the front suspension coil spring fits into and the metal cover that fits over the top of the coil spring would be the same for an omega 2.2 and a 2.6...thanks

Hoping to change front struts on my desmond 2.2 later in the year....would like to build up the complete units so I can save time and swop straight over rather than having to dismantle old units for some bits.....already bought,,gas shocks..springs..dust/ dirt covers..top bearings and top rubber mounts...so I think i still need the lower and upper rubbers that the spring sits in,,,also the metal cover that goes over the top of the spring..plus the washers and nuts that secure it to the spring,,,,,do i need anything else ??...has anyone got  these parts for both struts for sale please..if so could you please p.m.me with price and delivery to Bedfordshire...thanks....

any ideas as to why my desmond is blowing stone cold air to the rear seats and yet the front gets realy hot..i have looked at the list of faults on here but cant find one that helps with the rear heating..thanks..

At a later date going to fit new front struts and springs to the omega...bought them and a dust cover kit ready to do them.....however should i also replace the top bearings and mountings although the others appear to be ok.....cheers

opinion please....been offered a pair of new front gas struts that have never been fitted but have been stored in a shed for 8 years,,,so would they still be ok to use or would the have deteriorated by now....and be useless...thanks...

General Car Chat / heater flush stuff

Any suggestions as what to use to flush heater matrix...already used dishwasher tabs..that cleared it...heater ok...then heater stopped working..flushed with soda crystals..cleared it again.....heater was good.....heater stopped again ..only warm air coming through,,flushed it again today with rad cleaner and back flushed it several times....bits of scale came out once more..water then ran clean,,and heater working once more..toasty...so just wondering what is the best stuff to use in case it clogs up again,,thanks..

Is it ok to use soda crystals in the heater matrix by disconnecting the two heater hoses and filling matrix with a water and soda crystals and leaving for 20 mins or so to clear out any blockage in there...I found out today from my mate who did the head gasket on my miggy that he thinks that there was some kind of head gasket sealer in the system as he had a hell of a job to clean it off the head and block when he did it,,,.so that may be why i got little heat,,,top heater hose gets hot but bottom one just hardly warm,,,Any suggestions as to which would be the best heavy duty cleaner to use to flush it all out if someone has used....k,seal,,,,or steel seal stuff in it.....rather than replace heater rad...thanks,

I know i am thick  but please explain exactly to me how i reset the heating flaps,,,i have read the info but still dont get it...,i know you hold down auto and off buttons for approx 5 secs....but is that with ignition off or on....engine running or not,,,heating on or off....eco on or off,,,i have tried but all it does is increase the fan speed to full,,so i know i am doing something wrong..please..thanks

during the summer my desmond had head gasket replaced...then he heater didnt work very well so bled the system as per advice and it was fine...but now as temperatures drop so does the heat inside the cabin,,so much so that it blows warm only..tried the reset flaps yesterday and that made it blow stone cold afterwards.thermostat was replaced and although takes ages to come up to temp does appear once hot to run around 88 degrees...top heater matrix hose gets hot but bottom hose is only half the heat(not very warm at all )...matrix was flushed at time of head gasket...so was thinking of replacing heater matrix..the cheat way...on the advice is says,disconnect the heater hoses under the bonnet from the matrix,,,,then from inside the cab take torx off the bracket that holds steel pipes that go into matrix.....so do you have to disconnect from under bonnet to be able to pull inside pipes back enough to clear the matrix..thanks...

when i press the air recirculating button to on....face lift 2.2 omega........a circle appears and thats it....am i correct in thinking that the letter ..a....should also show up in the centre of that circle  .....if so any idea why it does not please..

During the summer i had a problem with the interior heater on my 2.2.mig..would not heat up but car was overheating....so took tips from you kind lads on here and ...properly bled the cooling system,,changed thermostat and it cured the problem....we all know 2.2 take ages to warm up and for heater to work properly but my problem now is,,although the engine temp stays around 88/90 deg once hot ,the more the outside temp drops the less warm my heater is..in fact yesterday the temp dropped to 6 degrees and the heater only put out warm let alone hot.....so to sum up when outside temp is say above 12 deg heater gets hot but as outside temp drops so does the heater warmth drop...but engine temp remains around 88/90 deg regardless.....any ideas why this is please..thanks..
