Omega General Help / rough rnning
« on: 11 June 2015, 18:31:12 »
My 2.2 omega just lately has been playing up on startup...it takes more turns of the engine to fire up than normal and then runs as if the choke was on..it runs just a bit lumpy on tick over 500/600 rpm but increase this just a little to around 800rpm and she runs just fine, all through the auto box is as should be and picks up speed as it should....not using any coolant so i assume the head gasket is fine...when slowing back down from normal running to tick over it then begins to run a bit rough...not quite as bad as missing on one cylinder but just feels as if it will cut out at any time....any ideas please.. :y

Omega General Help / coolant leak.
« on: 23 May 2015, 12:53:59 »
Help please..i have water dripping on my 2.2 (desmond ),,,It appears to be coming down the side of the oil filter and onto the under tray......there are two small bore hoses going to the oil filter housing and I have checked those and they appear to be fine..it is above those hoses at the back of the filter that you cant see ,somewhere between that filter housing and the engine block....could it be that filter housing,,if so would it be that there is a gasket there somewhere,,,or do the housings split or crack...it has just appeared for no reason as yesterday all was ok.. :( :(

General Car Chat / scrapping your omega
« on: 18 April 2015, 23:13:22 »
Hi just to let anyone who may be interested..I recently scrapped my omega, but before It went I took off everything that i wanted from it to use as spares on my new omega if required....I left the engine and box and 4 wheels on it and then i found this company....giveacar.co.uk in London,,,,,who are a charitable company that wants your scrap vehicle for charitable donations....it works like this,,,,,,,you phone them up and tell them what car you have to give for scrap...they ask if you if it runs or is it a scrap car and do you want any of the scrap value or would you like to donate the  value to a charity of your choice,,,In my case I ask them to suggest a childrens charity and they did...They then arrange for the collection of the vehicle...time and place arranged with you.....send you an email to confirm this.....scrap company pick it up and give you a receipt and fill in your v5c for you and take it away...you then receive an email confirming the destruction of said vehicle and at a later date you receive a letter confirming the value your car made and then you will receive a letter from the charity you donated it too to say thank you....giveacar receive not a penny and the scrap man receives 25% of the scrap value and the other 75% value goes to your donated charity..so all in all very good to do...the phone number of giveacar if its ok to state is,,,02077364242.....I hope this may be of use to someone on here.. :y

« on: 18 February 2015, 19:21:02 »
Help please as realy peed off......just bought an omega 2.2....2002...the guy put a full m.o.t. on it and changed the cam belt...rollers...and water pump...that what he said and the old ones were in the boot to show he had done just that.......ok he drove it to my home..20 miles on Saturday and since then i have started in several times to move it about to do jobs on it before i tax it on the first of march....today it started ok and i turned it around and did what i wanted to do and then when i went to park it up properly for the night,it started and ran for 10 seconds and then just stopped...looking at fuel gauge it was just in the red ,,,so i went and put a gallon of fuel in it just in case,,but just turns over as it should but will not fire up.....so please any ideas what it could be that is preventing it starting as i am at my wits end with omegas at the moment...and dont know where to start looking......ta much.. :( :( :( :(
