Does anybody know if there is socket/plug on the loom for the towbar electrics on a Vivaro/Trafic/Primastar so that it's just plug and play. TIA

The french make wiring simple, not likely.

How old is the van?

Its a Primastar 09 plate

Looking at this link it seems you can buy a kit which makes it simpler , or wire your own in.

but I doubt it'll be like the socket in the boot of an Omega

Had a look at a few of these kits on the web and although they are sold as plug and play the small print says that it may have to be spliced in and i cant find a definitive yes or no or pic to confirm

I'm going to order the pf jones towbar as i have had their's before and they are good quality for the price. The electrics that come with it are the splice in type

The 13 pin socket loom for my Omega that I got from Andy C was mostly plug & play ie you unplugged from the tail lights, plugged the towbar loom to the tail lights and then plugged the car's loom to the towbar loom

There was a socket in the boot still, but the loom with the 13 pin came as described above. I'm sure your estate still has a socket ....... Al will know

Cheers Andy. I think i will bite the bullet and get the dedicated kit, it says it comes with full instructions. Can always send it back if its not suitable.
