Bo Bo is back!
« on: 01 April 2007, 16:08:42 »

Just got back from picking up my new motor.
Had to go to Norwich to get it but I think it was worth it.
1999, 74000 miles with FVSH, there's a few little scratches & the rear blind doesn't work, other than that I can't fault it. Just posted a few pics in the gallery  :y

very nice matey  :y

so ... cam belt & tensioners change, breathers cleaned out ... for starters  ;D

as for the rear blind ... the one in my 2000 facelift was jammed when I got it - you can hear the relay clicking in and back out again a few seconds later - but no movement. I took it all out, greased it, used it every now and again, then went to move it up & down again a month or so ago ... jammed again  >:(

... hmmm, wonder why they dropped the blind from the later models (2002-ish I think?)  ::)

It goes up about half way then stops, could be something's come loose, haven't had time to look yet. Yep cambelt's a priority.....

Get some ptfe spray (sort hardware stores sell for nylon curtain rails) and lube the runners...  ...first couple of up/downs you may have to assist slightly...

Do not use oil!

I'm free the weekend of the 28th.  EP has a long list of stuff to do, more than 1 day.  I still need to do my brakes, but not likely to attempt the EM gaskets.  Location TBD.
