Great but, you dont need to remove the door handle.....!!!

I found that later on.... however still made life easier with the handle removed as i could see so much better.

Also you cannot move the assembly that far to remove to screws with that rod still connected to the lock motor.....

You can do it without, i did. but for first timers i would say take it out as you can see better  :y

i found that without this removed,




movement was very restricted, and you could not get the motor almost out of the door like i pictured.

Normally would be possible to leave that rod in place, unclipping from bottom end instead.  I know in your case you couldn't due to the problem at the bottom end....

Should you disconnect the battery first? Especially with an Airbag sensor in the door.

I did'nt.... never touched the sensor, it works on large pressure differences, did my dads air-bag light never came on.
