I dont think they know what to do at the age of 19 ;)

Well that leaves an ideal opporunity to teach them a thing or two.... every day is a school day and all that ;D

Besides, when it comes to this sort of thing I'd say less is definitely more. I'd rather not be frolicking with girls who've been round the block more times than a Hackney cab. :y
So how do you know what your teaching them is best ::)

Cos I am the master ;) Besides, she'll soon know what feels best :D
I thought I was the master until one night I was going like a young un and the lady said "theres a crack in the ceiling" me being hard of hearing said "what" and she said "do you want me on my back or kneeling"  :D

The Cayman is a damn nice car, not as iconic as the 911 but I wouldn't say no. Certainly a lot better looking, and less common, than the Boxster. I considered the latter for a while, but those are soooo common, plus they're a convertible which I don't want as long as I live in the UK, and even the 3.2 S isn't that fast (I managed to get by one in my 840, and he was trying, though well into triple figures on an airstrip of course) so that's pretty well ruled out. Loads cheaper though, good 986 3.2 S go for £15-20k depending on age & mileage.

I agree the 911 TT is far from a thoroughbred sports car (that's what the GT3, or even the GT3 RS, is for) but that's a compromise I'd be more than willing to make. It's still quicker than most things, handles damn well, yet can be driven across Europe in comfort. The GT3 and the like are just a little too raw, it'd become a weekend car. Saying that I can't afford either so it's a moot point ;).
The early Boxster and the S are well balanced but dead slow.

400+hp, close ratio 6spd, and a quaiffe in a Cayman is a completely different story.  Should outpunch a GT3, except the ride doesn't have to be that extreme.  And all for about 45-50K . . . .

A Boxster owner was messing about with a local mechanic who was checking my last car out - so I told him the Omega had a bigger engine

Early standard ones were 2.5 (what's the point in such a low-power engine in a Porsche?) later upgraded to 2.7 around 1999 or 2000 I think. The "S" was 3.2 from the outset AFAIK. That's for the 986 model, not sure about the newer 987. But yeah, all of them are too damn slow for a sports car.

It is interesting to note that, apart from some absolute class answers in the beginning, this has generally boiled down to the ultimate TV and the ultimate car.  As I mentioned, the LCD TV is one purchase that stands out for me.  I had waited several years to afford one, and I am not disappointed.  However, I need a bigger place to live first with these monster ones.  More importantly, I just don't think that there is that much good stuff to watch to justify something like that.
