Right! We're on!
I am going to go for the most popular which was Sat 14th November. I have spoken to the chap and he first showed me a spot which was full of bikes and not very suitable, 2 cars max at a time under cover. At the other end of camp there is a run-down but usable building with room for a dozen vehicles under cover. There is no electricity or lighting but its a long building with large doors all along one side. I can get some portable lights that would light up inside quite nicely and it will need a little prep in the form of sweeping and clearing of a few shrubs.
To the front is plenty of space for another dozen vehicles and we are free to use BBQs etc, although we are able to the on-site restaurant which will cost a couple of quid for a full slap-up brunch!
So if you want to attend PM with your full name and address and I will PM you closer to the time with directions and instructions. You will need photo ID to get in and it would help if you have not been in trouble with the police recently, if you let me know if you have and I will be able to assess it beforehand.
We will need your own tools and some portable lighting would be necessary for working underneath as I am not sure how strong the lighting I will be bringing is.
I just hope one of the local admins could come down with a Tech2. I have a locking kit, axel stands, jacks and various tools. I am competant with changing timing belts, oil coolers, wishbones, thermostats, drop links, disks and pads. When you PM if you could state what tools and skills you will be bringing and I will add to the thread.
I must add also I will be asking for a couple of quid donation from everyone on the day to buy the boss' boss a bottle champers to say thank you. Just so there are no surprises.
As for numbers I reckon we could easily accomodate for 2 dozen vehicles
