er, no 

actually ok on 1.8 that's a "free-running" engine, but 2.0 not. Used to have a Carlton 1.8 - cam pulley burst on that on M1 - managed to fix it with a spare I just happened to have in the boot.

I have driven all 3 Carlton 4 cylinder petrols original version

1.8 Carb - totally totally shite
1.8 injection - OK but not much torque
2.0 injection - a very good drive so good I owned one for 5 years

I had a cavalier expression with an 8v engine in and to be honest it was the most reliable car I have ever owned. When I sold it it had done 160k and still going strong.

Had a gli my god was it quick. Quite miss the old girl
