Hi all,

just got back from getting the firmware update for my gearbox done by Theboy.

The update works brilliantly, you can hardly feel the box change now and its much more responsive! Whilst there he updated the Aircon program and now I dont get a gale foce wind everytime I change the temperature, its all spot on now.

Many thanks to Jamie for all his help, even fixing my doors that I didnt realise were faulty

I would recomend going and getting the updates done you'll notice the difference.

For the record, I believe I was the first OOF member to get the autobox firmware update  8-)

Mine was updated FOC by the dealer, before I joined.

So was mine......in a 'stabbing in the dark' approach to fix my cam sensor prob......which they never did

Hi,  I'm a newbie to the forum and was looking at this thread about firmware updates for auto boxes.

I have an 03 cdx 2.6 auto estate is this likely to have the later firmware, is it possible to tell without a tech2 and what difference does the update make....can anyone enlighten me please.

Big improvement, much smoother changes, doesn't thump when lock up occurs. If your getting that update then get the climate software done at the same time.

It's the 'if Carlsberg did updates' of enhancements!

sounds good, would these updates have been by dealer during routine service, I've only just got the car but it has a full dealer service history.

I gather there is a member in Nottingham with a tech2 who can do the bussines for a price if required. I am in Leicester which is pretty close but it would be nice to know whether the firmware is likely to be upto date already, are there any giveaway signs of the later code i.e. change up speeds, or different behaviour of the climate control??

Climate control upgrade makes the whole climate operation a lot more subtle - fans don't come on full when your start up etc, Autobox update came out after production run so not likely to be upgraded unless dealer was trying to solve a problem.

Unlikely to have been updated by dealer...

Marks_DTM_Calib just south of Nottingham will be closest for you, and is as helpful and as knowledgable as you can get

I think, technically, I was. But then I would be

If they flashed the firmware with v9... it probably had v10 beforehand

They were obviously panicing, seeing as they were too stupid to fix his failed cam sensor

Couldn't say when it was. I remember is was cold, wet and very dark...
