Last week car had a misfire and came up with code 19


Changed coil pac / leads / plugs and crank sensor. And this cured the misfire
I was told there was no oil in plug well

Car now seems to stall on tickover
When driving it seems ok

Car is 3.0 with LPG and auto gearbox. (125000) I think more when
warm than cold but will have too check this


Any suggestions

Only ever had a 3.2 which doesn't have one, but iirc, it's between the throttle body and the battery

The lump on the other side is the egr valve

When mine did this,  it turned out to be a faulty MAF. I replaced the idle valve with a spare, fitted a new crank sensor and checked the plugs all with no improvement. It got worse the longer it ran.
Disconnecting the MAF brought the EML on, but eliminated the problem. Fitting my spare fixed it completely. A new one is seriously expensive, so you need to be sure of your diagnosis. I've never seen a faulty idle valve that wasn't obviously knackered/gummed up, so don't get your hopes up!

As said try cleaning ICV first.

To check MAF, try running car with MAF disconnected.  If this cures problem, then you need replacement MAF

Tried with the maf unplugged but still stalled

Is the idle valve connected and not been accidently unpluged when changing spark plugs etc.

All pipes connected and ivc cleaned
Still stalls on idle
Only code read was 19

Points to dodgy crank sensor.  Was it a GM or pattern part fitted?  Also been known for a new GM crank sensor to fail vry quickly (I know - I had one fail)

The garage wants to check the new sensor so refitting old one so I can
Use car and they will get the new one tested.

Will have to wait and see
