Thanks Seth, didn't see that one as this is the cheapest one I found. thanks for the link mate  :y

I made some compartments in the top tray, for screwdrivers, spanners, sockets etc etc ... and it pushes straight under my workshop bench when not in use ;)

Excellent value for money dear boy! :y

Look no further than http://www.wellandsteamrally.co.uk/ ...
... for a fantastic short break in the shadow of the beautiful Malvern Hills at our 51st annual event, which'll take place on Fri/Sat/Sun 24/25/26 July.

Picture courtesy of a friendly Admin!

Our Public Campsite is strictly pre-bookable with bookings closing on 30 June. Minimum stay is two nights.
Campers are free to arrive from 9am on Wednesday 22 July, and stay-over free of charge on the night of Sunday 28 July after the show. The campsite must be vacated by noon on Monday 27 July.

Each year sees around 1000 camping units on-site, and although we can't supply electric hook-ups, we have mains water, chemical toilet disposal tanks, portaloos, rubbish skips, a large disabled camping area, as well as a campsite shop and 24-hour security.
There's also a Farmers Market and caterers galore on the showground itself.

The event will be sign-posted from Jct 1 and Jct 2 of the M50 motorway:

SatNav for Day Visitors: WR13 6NG
SatNav for Campers: WR13 6LW

Why not join our 15000 visitors?
......... with great company and around 1000 working exhibits!

The Bay City Rollers will be performing live on stage on the Saturday evening.

Omega General Help / Re: 2.5TD Oil Level Low

I have a feeling that there is something underneath (sub-frame?) restricting sump removal on the TD. As I have only had mine 16 years, I cannot be expected to know. ::) Seth will however. :y

Correct Chris:

Sump off = Subframe off ... >:( :'(

General Car Chat / Re: Omega 2.5TD vs E36 325D
« on: 28 April 2015, 12:36:07 »
I'm curious if anyone knows what exactly Vx did to detune the 2.5 engine to the 131bhp?  My mechanical friend tells me that there were 2 different 2.5 engines put in the BMWs... One was a 131bhp in the TD and the other was 143bhp in the TDS models.

So am i right in thinking that the Omega and lesser spec BMW engines are pretty much the same with the only difference being in the TDS model BMWs?

Anyone know the difference between the TD and TDS models?

Same M51DT lump, possibly with differing ancilliary units/bracketry for the Omega application.
Power outputs differ by mapping.

Vx designations were U25DT (non EGR) and X25DT (EGR). Both being 128 BHP.

Earthing?

Easily eliminated by securely connecting a jump lead from the battery negative clamp to the engine block - manifold nut, lifting bracket etc. ;)

General Car Chat / Re: Brittool sockets. Any good?
« on: 20 March 2015, 23:43:30 »
Never had/used their allen sockets Webby, though most of my spanners and sockets are Britool :y

Had 'em just over 40 years now in A/F; Metric and Whitworth sizes, and for the first 20 years they took a real hammering working on big, heavy buses, day in, day out!

Personally, I rate Britool stuff highly. Sensibly priced too! :y

Personally, I'd advertise it on here outlining the issues, and set a realistic asking price ;)

(Need to speak to a friendly Admin first due to post count, and also move the post to General Car Chat) :-X

Our compressor at the garage is good although it's farking noisy. Does take a while to get decent power after turning it on. Is that normal?

Yes, it can take a while to fill the tank(s) depending on their capacity.
Once full, the unloader valve should blow-off and the compressor'll then shut down ;)
