Well! It turned itself back on after a couple of days with no rain ;) Wonder why that happened, tho.....

Hi :)

My cars computer isn't starting the display when I start the car. It's not totally off, but just shows a gleam of light and no text or info. This happened a day ago when I started the car and no info on the display. Then it wouldn't turn off again when I turned the car off either. Had to get the fuse out before it turned off. It's very humid/wet outside here in Norway at the moment. Could that be the reason? :-/

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Flickering right headlight

First of all, many thanks for the answers :) Next up ; Being more or less a "freshy" and then a Norwegian, I don't know what "ballast packs" are?!?  :-/

Sorry for being such an ignorant on this. Really appreciate the help :)

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Flickering right headlight
« on: 15 September 2008, 16:04:56 »
Hi :)

I have a flickering right Xeon headlight, which sometimes flickers and stays ON, most of the time flickers and shuts down. Tried to do the usual "push/pull" on the wiring/socket on the headlamp itself, but only when ignition is OFF ;)

Where should I look? What might cause this?

Omega General Help / Re: Water gauge/temperature - 2.5cc V6

I have the same motor, and get the the "coolant message" regularly :) Also it gets hot (it even smells a bit hot), but someone told me to expect that from an engine this size. I don't like it much though. Going to France this summer with this car, and frankly I'm a little bit concerned. If you guys don't hear from me for a good while, I'm in France working to save up for a new engine! ;) :-/

Hi there :)

Not sure what they're called, but those black "bump protectors" on my one backdoor is kinda faling off. I want to take it off, fix it with some hot air and put it back. How do I do that? Are they glued or do the come off with a certain technique? :-/

With bump protectors I mean those rubbery black thingies running alongside the car from front to back in the middle of the car. What they are called in English I'm not sure of. Sorry for my lack of knowledge there :(

Door moulding is the name that Vauxhall uses. Bump strips, nudge strips are also common terms. They're glued on using a double sided tape, but there's a clip towards each end for location. In the UK rears are about £35 & fronts are about £55 - I've just bought one of each.  :'(

Thank you :) This place has a reply speed that's incredible :) I'm amazed!

So it's a question of jiggling them off then? Don't want to buy a new one (yes, pricy here too!). Just want to fix it.

Again, thanks a lot!

Have a good day :)

Knut ::)

Omega General Help / Changing bulbs in my dash?
« on: 05 December 2007, 18:46:45 »
Hi everybody :)

I'm a fairly new Omega owner that have been cruising the web for info the
last 6 months, on how to maintain my '98 GL 2.5 V6 Station Wagon.

Just to mention it, this Forum is heaven for me and a lot of greetings to you
people out there (in here) that helps out keeping this place in order and lets us
get hold of information that I (for one) sorely need  :y

So to the question in hand:

How do I replace the bulbs in my dash? Is that something I can do myself? Or do
I need to seek some help on the matter?

Again, thanks alot to all of you :)

Keep up the good work!

Yours Sincerely
Knut  :D

Thanks a lot for a warm welcome :) I'm truly amazed by this site and how immense the flow of information is! If it hadn't been -3 centigrade outside, I would be on my Opel with some tools already ;) Again, thanks a lot you guys for making us feel welcome :)  :y

(and hopefully give away some as well) on our Opel/Vauxhall :)

Sorry, but these are more crappy. Taken with cellphone last fall. Still have the old 15" rims on.

This is my '98 Opel Omega GL, 2.5 V6 Automatic (approx. 170hp) outside the Lamborghini factory in Santa Agatha, Bolognese :) No pun intended  8-)

It has been well kept by the former owners, and haven't run more than 776,713 miles / 125000 km.

This car has everything there was to get on the "options" side back in '98, and the good thing is they still work perfectly. This also includes Xeon headlights.

All I've bought is the 17" Rims with BF Goodrich G-Force 225/45 x 17 tyres to match.

I've never been more happy with a car that I've owned in my life! It's a tad more expensive than my old car (a '93 Ford Fiesta! Duh!! ;) ) but I simply love it :)

More pics to come....

Yours truly!
