I'm planning on being there with my Carlton and MV6 on the ABS stand.

I'm gonna try and get their this year but not sure if i'm gonna go on the sat or the sunday i'm hoping to go with ABS do you have to be invited to go on there stand...I am a member of ABS just not been on the forum much to know anyone or how it works.

You'll need to read the post about the changes on the ABS forum, dude - basically, you now have to pre-book.

Yes, it's a car show - THE annual car show for Vauxhall, Opel, Bedford, Holden and many other GM products.
If you are a member of a VBOA affilliated Club (such as Autobahnstormers, VODC, VDC for example) then you are entitled to show your car on the club stand. OOF isn't a VBOA club, as it's a free, web-based forum.

The general public are welcome to look at the cars etc as it is held at Billing Aquadrome in Northants., but there is a charge, which is down to billing Aquadrome, not the VBOA.

There's a new indoor water park this year too, so the (big) kids should be well sorted.

I'll be there on the mk2cav.com stand with my Ascona C SRe running a 3.0 from an omega an old boy crashed in the ice!

The superbarge will be around somewhere no doubt too. Come and say hi. Everyone will know me there seeing as I started the site. However I will somehow be missing the climate due to the F1 traffic that weekend.. crazy planning by VBOA to knowingly coincide with Silverstone, especially seeing as Billings been bought out by hoseasons!

If no one comes and says hi I'll do my best to delicately come by the ABS and quzz some Omega owners! to try top put some names to faces on here!

im going this year but not showing as such i will be over on the vvoc.com the only club i belong to as a premo member to go,and the miggy will be tucked up in a corner of the stand out of sight coz it anit a vectra which is cool just a great weekend for chillin and seeing old friends and meeting some new ones

I've just posted my membership application off to join ABS, and I was hoping to come along for the weekend with the wife and 2 friends and camp over on the Saturday night.

Anyone know who I need to speak to?

Aye, I've read about taking proof (ie The Letter + ABS Card etc) to get discounted rates on entry.

But I was thinking more along the lines of 'do I need to book / reserve a slot on the ABS stand itself' - basically is there a limit to the number of ABS cars that can go?

Last couple of times I went to Billing I was with another club, and there was a 'Billing attendees' thread which listed everyone who was going. :-/

Matt and I are doing entertainment for ABS, so could well ~~press-gang~~ volunteer you into service

As far as crappyvans go, I've no idea, as I've not camped with ABS before.

I'll be there Saturday & camping Saturday night, no club affiliation. Going with a mate and his beloved 2.2 Carlton.....

Probably taking the Omega unless someone snaps it up beforehand - it'll be the one with the big FOR SALE sign in the window so pop over and slur 'hello'...

I've tried emailling ABS about Billing, but had no response

What do you recon my chances are of being able to get on the ABS stand on sat/sat night/sun?

Come over and speak to Dave Kember - someone will point you in the right direction, but bring proof of who you are and when you applied. .
To be fair, anything sent just before the biggest GM show of the year could go unnoticed for a few days in the run-up to the show as there's a helluva lot to sort. I know that in an ideal world, a minion would be there to be all over it, but it simply can't happen like that, which I know can be frustrating sometimes.

Been sorting the mig last few days.

Managed to fit a front splitter, paint the brake callipers and give her a good old polish!

Got genny + batt charger + 12v batts + inverter ready.
still got to sort laptop (need to free some space for photos) + camera + beer!

Still can't decide if I should go down on Thurs, or just go Fri morning :-/

If any of you see a lanky guy with a blue Nascar T-shirt walking about with a camera then that'll be me, as this is only 6 minutes down the road and it would be rude not to.

Shame I don't have the 2000 V pre-facelift Elite anymore, but shall be good to surround myself with luxobarges for a while.

And I have to see if pedroMV6's blue Carlton is good in the flesh despite the (personally) suspect Evo rear wing.

I got back this afternoon from Billing which I must say was a brilliant time.
I had not been before but was made welcome by the ABSers and also the OFFers.
There was a PS3 with some car racing game on a huge projector where people were attempting to beat the Champion.... I was full of ale so decided to have ago...... Not sure The Ex Champ will welcome me next year though lmao...
Joking aside a brilliant time really worth a visit.

Thanks to everyone involved, see you next year.
