Someone mentioned how expensive MK1 Escorts have become.  :)

So here's an affordable MK1 Escort Mexico!  :y

And here's a nicer but unaffordable MK1 Escort Mexico!  :)

Why is everything now "a barn find" does that add another couple grand to the over inflated price.

That the price because it's got a V5,  every panel is available new for the escort,  build a shiny new car, and you have a registration document, job done.   Restamp the turret and floor with the relevant numbers. Nobody would know.

Be nice if they could have put the donk where the spare wheel is, instead of about 6' ahead of the front axle. ;D

I had one of those, ran it for several years, 1992 on I think. Nice car, very fast, and little trouble. It lacked driver headroom, which disappointed me as I had run a CX 2.4 family estate earlier and that had plenty of driver headroom. As it got older, air leaked out of the suspension balls, the hydraulics maintained the vehicle height, but the ride got harsher. I replaced it with my first Vx Senator about 1997. I bought the ex-police Senator at auction at Witney for about £3000, put the Citroen in the auction and got about £250 for it.
