Not strictly true - there are now ways around that one  ;)

As Dave DND says, we have a way to discover the pairing code on NCDC201x series stereos, and have a way to set CID back to delivery mode.  It will still require a bit of Tech2 work afterwards to repair various bits, but its usually possible.

In your case, if you got a replacement CID that worked but had unknown code, you could get around the coding by swapping some parts around ;)

Only if it were 'sorted' and put into delivery mode....

I have a good, fully working, depaired, NCDC2013 that I intend to sell with the spare GID (or even CID if I can sort a small problem with it).

They fetch good money (esp with CID), but unless you are getting it dirt cheap, by the time you have 'sorted' it, probably not feasible.  Also, even if depaired, still needs to be paired to go in the car.

That aside, if its cheap enough, I may be interested ::)

With a bit of minor rewiring, yes :D

You will need to replace the display with a GID or a CID, and this MUST be paired to the radio.

The manual is really sketchy on the 2013 and its "security"device. The other radios all mention inputting codes to the radio if the power is disconnected but although I have a litle card with a code there is no mention of how to input it to the system - or even if it needs to be- in the event of disconnecting the battery.  It just says "refer to dealer" !

So if the battery goes flat or is disconected, what happens?

The 'security' is that the base unit and the display are paired to each other via a Tech2 (computer) normally only available to dealers.  There are, however, 4 available throughout the country via the OOF network.....   ;)

You don't need to input the code on the Siemens 1100/1500/2013/2015 units, the code is used in a slightly different way  :y

Disconnecting the battery shouldn't cause any issues with these head units.

confirmation on the last 2 posts, the siemens units are paired with the screens and therefor means they wont work if just removed from one vehicle and placed in another by means of theft, and when the battery dies or is disconnected, as soon as its got power again the system in its original car recognises the display unit its already paired with and works again without needing the code

my unit and screen decided to "die" one evening and the car was in the garage the following day for a seperate issue, they left the ignition on by accident and flattened the battery, upon recharge i was pleased to find the stereo and screen come back to life!

TB, what sort of timescale would you be looking at, to sell the NCDC (and CID)? Also how much, would £500 be in the ballpark?

To confirm what others have said, disconnecting battery will not cause you a problem.  The security on these is based around the entire Infotainment system (wanky word that Vauxhall use) - Radio/CD Changer/Display/Telematics (if fitted) - all being paired together.  System won't work if one part is removed, nor will it work if one part is replaced without depairing/repairing first.

As soon as I get part of the CID back from Marks DTM, and I've fully tested it.

You are in the right ballpark
