Adding mp3 player

Is there anyway of connecting a mp3 player (Ipod type) through the standard Elite radio other than using an FM modulator???

Other than the obvious 'why' (even a tone deaf sod like me can tell MP3 sounds rubbish, unless 320k)....  ....your only other option is cassette adapter.

320k can sound over bassy and muffly!

Will play CDR, neither of mine play CDRW.  Also, obviously it wont play mp3s from CD

what's the reason for them not playing CDRWs? I wasn't pleased when mine wouldn't play them!

I wonder if anyone sells an after-market upgraded multi-player, like Alpine or Sony etc......That will fit the standard lead :-/

Virtually nothing can play cdrw due to differences in reflectivity of the cdrw compared to cdr and pressed cd.  generally only stuff using computer technology cd drives can.

Generally, you need to buy a display adapter and a steering wheel adapter

I don't want to touch the headunit due to the Bose wiring/amps etc... I just wondered about the multi-changer in the boot.

Only the standard CD player works with it. Std CD player will do CDRs but not CDRW.

Cassette adapter or fm mod is only way - though you need to use device to pick track etc. You won't lose too much quality, as MP3 is poor anyway.

Sorry Tunnie, was referring to era that the OP was on about. Yes, most modern stuff can do it, as most cd pickups use the same tech as PC based ones to keep costs down.
