My Opel Omega 3.0 '01 Irmscher
« on: 16 September 2008, 03:37:17 »

So, this is me and my Omega

It has 3.0 v6 engine and the manual gearbox - which is very important for me... Here in Poland such versions were only available for special request (and 3.2 v6 weren't available with manual gearbox at all).

The car has Irmscher bodykit, it makes the car look awesome and unigue. People often don't even recognize, that it is Omega...

That's how it looked when i bought it (few months ago):

Below is my old and new Omega... The old one is already sold, but i moved the wheels from it to the new one :)

Now most importat modifiactions:

Inreasing compression, changing all the engine gaskets

Installing H&R lowering springs and Bilstein shock absorbers

workshop :)

it's lower, than i supposed...

Another  modification - polishing of the plenum

So this is my Omega

In few days i'm making another modification - limited slip differential, i'm gonna have a lot of fun :)

Nope !   Sorry ! Just can't see it.

Perhaps its my age but IMHO it looked a lot better and more classey
as Opel meant it to be.

I can see how a young man would think it looks better now from a street cred point of view...but for "class" she looked better as originally intended....In my opinion its been "over modified" and looks rather trashy now. Sorry..but it just does.

Tis a pity because she originally looked great.

Polish driver - polished manifold ;)
Nice filter, it should suck a lot of hot air. Along with heated throtle it will gives you few horsepower less... :)

You think? I personally think that Exec has got the car looking how Irmscher should have styled it in the first place - perhaps a tad low but that makes it look a bit mean.  :-/

Just comes down to personal opinion again I guess.  :y

You have a point there Platty...understood.

The kit makes her look fantastic...tis true...its way she is sitting so low that detracts.

Filter came with the car as it is, of course it will be separated to prevent sucking hot air - i didn't do anything with it yet, because i'm thinking about modification of whole intake...

But believe me, even now with that cone air filter the v6 engine sound is awesome!  :)

Well, my previous omega had also lowering springs, and when i bought the new one i noticed, that when you travel with higher speeds the lower suspension is really really safer!

Another reason why i installed lowering springs is that i like to make some drifting, so it was necessary  :)

About the Irmscher kit - i didn't make this modification, the car came brand new with it already...

I was interested in this too - does it look as though the head has been skimmed? The picture seemed to show that - but I am not familiar with V6 heads  :-/

yes indeed, head has been skimmed as much as it could be, as you can see on the pics, it's skimmed really close to the valves, to increase the compression as much, as possible :)

Well... few weeks ago a woman on the crossroads with her citroen saxo was waiting for the green light, i was next to her. When the green light appeared she started to move, so and I, unfortunetly she was a young driver, her engine stopped in the middle of the crossroads - it was a real surprise for me, i "poked" her saxo a litle :D

Both cars are nice. But if I were you I would replace the auto gerabox in 3.2 to manual. I've already made this modification in case of my 3.0, I'm wondering if it's easier or more difficult to replace from auto to manual (with all functions!) in case of 3.2...

Ask serek about it. He's already done it in his 3.2 >> http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1251643510/all

And I don't think Exec is gonna use Vx here in Poland anyway. More likely he's gonna use it as a spare parts for his Irmscher ;)

whats the deal with the constantly flashing headlamps? is this a modification you've made, or is this you just flashing the lights at the cameraman?
