A lot of these observations are purely assumptions, and the condition can only assessed by a physical examination if it. Over the years, having bought many classic Triumphs, some of which had been laid up and 'off the road' for a good number of years, it really is dependent on how it has been stored, and the condition / circumstances when stored
If I was in the market for a good 3.2 Elite, then I would definately go and see it (with a code reader) and assess it from there.
I have been to look at many classic Triumphs that have been stored for a long long time - some I have immediately walked away from, some were just destined to be broken for parts, but some I have been pleasantly surprised at.
Anyone who can dismiss it without physically seeing it isn't genuinely interested in it.

It's also advertised on Ebay. Looks very straight bodily. I don't think £1750 is a high price these days for a clean 75,000 mile 3.2 Elite, despite the faults outlined in the ad.

I do think they are pretty ugly if I'm honest - just my opinion though....

I do Chris! I bought a Triumph 2000 in 2010 that had a 096 Drivemaster battery fitted. I have kept the car in several garages since but I never charged the battery in these periods of inactivity (very remiss of me really ::) but the battery is still going strong to this day and is still holding charge and starts the Triumph with no problem. It has an electric clock which is the only physically drain on it, but I certainly can't complain. I don't know who even makes Drivemaster but possibly other example of premium makes not always being better....
Just been to out to check it, and bearing in mind the vehicle hasn't been used for over 6 months, it is still showing it is 90% charged.

If leaving an Omega unused for a few weeks , I either disconnect the negative battery terminal, or just lock it from the driver door button, accessing it via the rear door, therefore not activating the alarm, which, on mine, is the main culprit of the battery drain during a good few weeks of inactivity.

Not impressed with our Gtech upright. We only have two carpeted rooms, the rest are hard floors and rugs. It doesn't get DG fur out of the carpets, can't cope with the rugs and struggles to sweep anything off the floor, but it's light and Mother likes it ::)

The hand held one is fine, but the upright doesn't vacuum particularly well. I use our old SEBO corded upright for the cars and anything more than dusting.

Not had a problem with our Gtech upright. Picks up well on carpet, hard surfaces, rugs and mats (sometimes you have to stand on one end of the mat depending the size to stop the suction lifting the mat). Picks up dog hair well, although it's beneficial in this regard to have the pet version (K9) ::)
I suppose if you haven't got the correct tool for the job.....
Hair does get tangled in the 'bearing' (if you can call it that) at the end of the roller over time, which then reduces its effectiveness as the brush roller doesn't turn properly so it doesn't then pick up quite as well, but as with anything preventive maintenance is the key.....

Gtech. Had one and a handheld for a few years. Wife says they are brilliant. Mind you I have used the handheld one regularly (on the cars :y), and they seem very good with a decent battery life.
Cheapest ordering them from Gtech themselves - they regularly have offers on and are usually cheaper than other 3rd party suppliers.

I remember (back in t'day) in 1974, that I used to fill up my Mini on payday and I had a good amount of change out of a fiver. And that was putting 3 star in - although when I was a bit skint towards the end of the month, I resorted to putting 2 star in.....
My mate whose Dad had a Triumph 2.5PI company car ran it on 5 star - 100 octane. Even a full tank of that good stuff would have only been in the region of £10.....
The good old days.......still cheaper than the equivalent cost at todays prices.

Whenever I have had the 'Headlight Range' warning on the dash, it has generally been the actuator arm ball joints on the front nearside wishbone. Not the plug or the wiring, but the ball joints at either end of the rod seizing due to all the road dirt / grit/ water from the road wheel. They can be freed off with care, but I find it is easier to take it off and do it on the bench. Whoever does it should do it carefully as genuine replacements (even used) are becoming difficult to find.
