Never ending. I honestly thought it was last week such is the hype but it is this week. I suppose it would have helped if I was a Thanksgiver.

How long before it has a more neutral name in the future?

I never bother with these deals, but I was considerering a 6TB external drive from Ebuyer (£122) compared it to the 8TB  for £160 ish

So went on Google to check prices qnd Currys were doing the 8TB for £145 (downside is the deal should have ended 22/11)  So popped it in the basket and so far thats the price I am paying.

A massive 99.5% of Black Friday deals are cheaper or the same price at other times of the year, the latest Which? research has revealed.
We’ve crunched tens of thousands of prices in our biggest Black Friday investigation yet, and found that you’re almost guaranteed not to score the cheapest price of the year by buying on Black Friday.

We analysed 201 Black Friday deals at six major home and tech retailers (Amazon.co.uk, AO, Argos, Currys, John Lewis and Richer Sounds), looking at their prices every day during the six months before and after Black Friday 2020 as well as on the day itself.
We found a massive 99.5% were cheaper or the same price at other times of the year – and, while you might expect prices to fall over time, 92% of these so-called ‘deals’ were actually the same price or cheaper in the six months before Black Friday.
In fact, just one of the 201 products in our investigation was at its cheapest price on Black Friday alone.

Always thought that Black Friday was just an excuse for stores to unload all the shit on a gullible public, that they haven't managed to sell over the rest of the year.  ;)

Yes, it is a clearance sale by rights, with often stock especially shipped in to stores for Black Friday, just as it once was for the Boxing Day Sales.  Now retailers have two opportunities to convince / con the public of “bargains” ;D ;D ;D
