Changed the oil in both diffs and the engine oil and filter on the Alabama Mumsybus.
Now a bit quieter and less vibration going down the road. Looks pretty tidy underneath, but discovered that the breather pipe had popped out of the inlet duct. Also discovered signs of previous bodgery as the inlet duct shows signs of being ham-fisted. On the plus side, zero play or noise from the turbo and only the faintest hint of oil on the inlet side. Which is nice.
A few little jobs to attend to in due course, but nothing insurmountable... The worst being a possible fuel leak from the hose between the filter and the pump... Although it may simply be a side effect of the breather pipe being out, (the filter sits in the V just ahead of the inlet duct that the breather had escaped from), also could benefit from a new set of idlers on the aux belt as they're a bit whirry.
And if you're ever unsure what fuel your car uses, when you drain the old oil out, refill with clean and pull the dipstick to check the level and it is as black as the old oil. Then it's a diesel. If it is as clean as the new stuff, it's petrol
