Just got a new cam seal. Im working over the weekend, so on Monday will give everything a clean, reassemble and hopefully all will be ok.
If not, it will be ebay - spears or rapiers.  :)
You're going to put him to the sword?  :o

Cars are 'she' :)
No, Kevin and me sorted this out in an earlier thread.

No....frustrating, unreliable, does your head in......but possessed of womanly  curves. A car is a 'she'

Right. I'm glad we have that straight. :)

Are vans 'she'?
They're big, square, ugly, well used and either empty or full of shit.

That would suggest a different pronoun.

'It' seems appropriate

I shall recap: You have to ask the car whether it wants to be male, female, gender neutral, etc. Mine is gender neutral and likes to be referred to as they/them.
Get with it, Opti.

Vans are 'it' in common with agricultural machinery. :)

No..no. An Astra derv is still a car so should be referred to as 'she' despite 'her' undesirable looks making 'her' an ugly mare that nobody wants to shag. :)

TB refers to his Jas as the big black pussy.

Pussy is feminine regardless of colour. 'She' is a feminine term. :)

Vans take it in the back door so I suppose they could be either.  :-\

Changed the oil in both diffs and the engine oil and filter on the Alabama Mumsybus.

Now a bit quieter and less vibration going down the road. Looks pretty tidy underneath, but discovered that the breather pipe had popped out of the inlet duct. Also discovered signs of previous bodgery as the inlet duct shows signs of being ham-fisted. On the plus side, zero play or noise from the turbo and only the faintest hint of oil on the inlet side. Which is nice.

A few little jobs to attend to in due course, but nothing insurmountable... The worst being a possible fuel leak from the hose between the filter and the pump... Although it may simply be a side effect of the breather pipe being out, (the filter sits in the V just ahead of the inlet duct that the breather had escaped from), also could benefit from a new set of idlers on the aux belt as they're a bit whirry.

And if you're ever unsure what fuel your car uses, when you drain the old oil out, refill with clean and pull the dipstick to check the level and it is as black as the old oil. Then it's a diesel. If it is as clean as the new stuff, it's petrol :D

Oh how I miss a dipstick. So much quicker and more accurate than 'Park level, warm engine, wait for two minutes and hopefully it's at the correct level on the display.  ::)
Even more annoying if you want a quick check that you aren't spitting diesel in to the sump. I have the tube (suction tube) so why no dipstick. Keep meaning to ask if they do a service dipstick that I could buy.
