Oh Shit - The End!

Driving home yesterday my car broke down! got it towed home by the AA who had a look at it.

Basically what happened was that the pully for the Aux belt tensioner broke up, mangled the Aux belt a good un, and
get this.....

Must have got in behind the cam cover and knocked the timing out to hell.

No compression .. been here before  :'( the pistons have been arguing with the valves again!

A real shame as after Mark, Pete, Jaime, Martin & Chris came round and changed the heads it had been running
really well, I managed to get another 3400 miles out of her that were a dream to drive!

I am not going down that road again, I couldn't do it, and would no way ask people for that level of help again.

So bottom line is that this is really the end!  It will be stuck on ebay as a non runner potential project.  If anyone on here
feels up to the challenge, Robin_hood will have a dvd of how to fix it soon, Make me an offer, but remember it will need to
picked up, it can't be driven.  Can supply photos of the current state of the cams, and it would need a new aux belt tensioner and aux belt obviously.

I'll leave it a couple of days before I ebay it in case anyone on here wants it.

sorry to hear about that, it's not nice when something like that happens.......

Mine gave me prior warning today, for about 5 mins i had a high pitched whine, like a supercharger noise!!!!

Pulled over popped the bonnet and could hear the pulley grinding away.

Local vaux dealer had one in stock, a quick swapover saw it all sorted......

Was amazed how quickly it went from operating normally to failing....
