The earliest is Model Year 94, so available from Aug 93. Any that were L reg are likely to have been test/press ones  :-\

Still see the occasional M reg ones around, usually TDs.

I had a G Reg. Carlton Estate a few years back - Midnight Blue metallic - which I loved but it had difficulty retaining its bodily fluids and various other problems, culminating in a blown head gasket, whereupon it was time for it to go to that great motorway in the sky!

Apparently X plates are old, last time I rang up for parts at Vx dealer, quoted the reg. Reply was..

"X plate? Blimey that's an old one"  :D

Maybe just as well my local dealer has the reg for my 'S' plate on speed dial  :-[  It's always a pain though when they take on 'an apprentice', glad I have my trusty EPC so I can quote them the part numbers.

There's an 'M' plate and an 'R' plate around my way - think they're both 2L 16v, will need to take a closer look next time.

Too much probably, the running part is the most important :y
