also depends whats in between the steering wheel and seat, for day-to-day needs 2.2 is fine. Stick it at 80mph, sits there all day long just as easy as V6, keep it reved up and they go well enough.

I do only weigh about 11 stone though, just me in, its fine, couple of mates and its soon struggling.

2.2's are sooooo much easier to work on as well  :)

Pity it's got a couple of cylinders missing!  ::) ::) ::)

Without doubt Andy, the 4 pot is useless :( :(
Bit of a condemnation there Zulu. If it`s that useless what are you doing driving one :-?

Yes, it's unlike me to be so overtly judgemental however I needed a car in a hurry, the 3.2 estate I had been looking at wasn't going to be available in time so I had to take the car I have presently.

Having been used to larger engines in the past I miss the extra power - especially in a car the size of the Omega.

In addition, I don't use it that much - I only did about 1400 miles last year.

Some days I would agree, others I would not....

My 2.2 is patchy-some days it flies and is really responsive, other days it is an unresponsive heavy slug.

On the good days, I don't want a 3.2, on the bad days I do...

Wonder if all 2.2s are the same?  Wonder what a really good 2.2 would feel like compared to a sad 3.2?
  :-? :-?

 ;D ;D Splendid CTP, I love that reasoning  8-) 8-) and  8-) again :y

2.2 is complicated enough with all the sensors...dread to think if I had bought a V6 with as many issues as mine.

My 2.2 sometimes flies, but presently sluggish as hell and 23mpg.  I think the crux is that the Omega is heavy and the 2.2 is fine if running as it should, but the cars are older now and if you have only experienced a sluggish one, you would never consider one.

Wish I could get the damned thing working 100%  >:(

Mine, *touch wood* has been fine for 5 years 50k. Couple of blown sensors plugs here and there, but 99% of time it runs fine.

I have found doing my longer commute (75 miles each way) the car feels better, its all motorway too, so its where the Omega should be.

Maybe if i had a short A road twisty, hilly commute it might be different.  :-/

My 2.2 is currently sad but the new plugs have just arrived.  On the way home, it may outdrag the John Deeres...

Here's hoping  :-/

Without doubt, my rebuilt 2.0 would easily outdrag my dads tired 2.5.

So, there's nothing wrong with 4 pots ::)

I remember wondering what everyone was on about when saying 4pots were underpowered, mine used to fly.

Now I understand-but it is down to a fault-you said what I thought might be true  :y
