I am not going to post a poll on what Thai curry as not enough time, the curry will be pork, and either panang or green curry.....However, I need to guage numbers to cater for and also (reluctantly), cover my costs, and when I say cost, solely cost on the food and ingredients etc., which includes the rice. This years meet is currently at 24 members, and if I take into account other halfs, then 48 adults to cater for.
The Thai curry will prepared before I come to Newent.
So in essence who would like a Thai curry on the saturday evening put your name below, should cost no more than £2/3 a head or possibly less, subject to numbers and my actual costs.

Mike you know I love Mrs. Dundee's Curries and will again pay for my share, but the last time you did this not everyone paid in which case you were alot of money out of pocket.

Right... I'm not able to come this year but I must recommend the Dundee curry... You can't beat it at £15/head, never mind the £3 or so it'll be :y :y :y
As Daz said, last year we tried a little whip round to help with the costs after we found out how much it had cost but weren't as successful as we'd hoped... Probably because we'd all had a few ::) ::)

Please please please forgive an intrusion from outsider.
Buy a pack of poker tokens off ebay, sort the colours
use the colours as codes and use the codes for the amount of portions bought. Cheapest value buys 1 meal, next pays for a couple etc.
If you use 3 values for for 1 2 and 3 then a request for a family of 7 came in then use 2x3 and 1 they pay thats 7 meals confirmed.
Of the spare codes, I dont know if all curries will be prepared equal strength, or other options etc, but the spare codes could be used as confirmation.
At the meet, come the night, curries up. Hand over your token, enjoy your food no awkwardness either side.
Slight cost involved for chips, envelopes and postage, but thats in the total over heads. Or they could be sold on the day before the meal.
So Proposed over heads Overheads £60 (just a random number based on 20 orders)
Orders are 20 before the meet
Suggested price in thread was max £3 (I think - it is late)
Token value = £3
if any one extra on the day wants a curry and cant be acommadated thats thier tough luck not to plan ahead.
If they can be accomadted then thats better for all cost wise as the chip price is reduced.
Price has to be dictated before the 1st one sold then it's "No more orders" situation.
Yes, I may well be talking out of my arris, but as soon as I read a member went out of his way and didnt get paid in full, as a result lost money on the offer. Then to be fair you dont order fish and chips and say oops I forgot my wallet, tell you what I pay tomorrow and then forget for a year.
In fact, I will go and empty my PM inbox ready incase I upset anyone who didnt pay, coz you ought to be ashemed of yourself's if you dont have a genine reason for long term forgetfullness.

Well this year I ain't slaving over four pots at the meet, plus trying to cook the rice will just be logistically unfeasible due to the amount of request's this year :o.
So folks will be given their portions and bag/s of boil in the bag basmati (BBB), rice to heat/cook themselves. One full container for 2 servings and half container 1 serving.
Curry this year is Pork Panang :y
Cost full container 2 servings plus the x 2 BBB rice £6.00
Single serving plus x 1 BBB rice £3.00

Indeed. In more ways than one when towed by a Westfield, I'd wager, so we're travelling light. ;D Might manage to squeeze my "alpine stove" in though. ;)

On a semi-serious note .. if anyone needs to use the cooking/battery charging/hot water facilities as at "The Lakes" just yell .. it's not a problem .. however the shower/luxury thunderbox facilities are "Entwood Only"...unless you guarantee, in triplicate, with a £100 "deposit" ... to empty said items immediately after use .. :)
