General Discussion Area / England my England
« on: 10 February 2010, 16:08:53 »
England,my England

Goodbye to my England, So long my old friend
Your days are numbered, being brought to an end
To be Scottish or Irish or Welsh that is  fine!
But don't say you're English, that's way out of line.

The French and the Germans may call themselves such
So may Norwegians, the Swedes and the Dutch
You can say you are Russian or maybe a Dane
But don't say  you're English ever again.

At Broadcasting House the word is taboo
In Brussels it's scrapped, in Parliament too
Even schools are affected. Staff do as they're told
They must not teach children about England of old.

Writers like Shakespeare, Milton and Shaw
The pupils don't learn about them anymore
How about Agincourt, Hastings , and Mons ?
When England lost hosts of her very brave sons.

We are not Europeans, how can we be?
Europe is miles away, over the sea
We're the English from England, let's all be proud
Stand up and be counted - Shout it out loud!

Let's tell our Government and Brussels too
We're proud of our heritage and the Red, White and Blue
Fly the flag of Saint George or the Union Jack
Let the  world know -  WE WANT OUR ENGLAND BACK !!!!

If you are proud to be English, pass it on please.  :y :y

I just did!

EDIT ---- I'm not the author of above, sent to me found it on my wave length.

Saturday 26th December 09 is not a Bank Holiday [ Boxing Day] so in some places  parking rules on yellow lines still apply.

So be aware  - ticket possible - depends on the council.  :-/

'NOT GUILTY' MOTORISTS FACE COURT COSTS

Drivers acquitted of motoring charges will pay costs under new government scheme.

New regulations set to come into force later this month will see motorists forced to cough up court costs - even if they're found not guilty or acquitted of motoring offences.

The government-inspired change to the current set-up - where drivers get costs refunded if they're innocent - is being implemented to save cash, in spite of fierce opposition from legal and motoring groups who were nominally 'consulted' before the new policy was drawn up.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the age old principle of 'the loser pays' has been costing the government too much money. As a result the new rules make it clear that in future drivers will have to foot the bill for clearing their name. According to The Taxpayers Alliance, that equates to 400,000 people, or one in four of those who challenge a ticket.

Now the Conservative party has joined the last ditch effort to derail the changes, and campaigners are looking for more signatories to a petition on the Number 10 website. We're off to go and sign the petition ourselves, and you can find out more by reading the press release, that was issued by the Association of Motor Offence Lawyers today.

YOU CAN SIGN THE PETITION ON THE PISTONHEADS WEBSITE

General Discussion Area / Swine flu
« on: 23 August 2009, 14:07:04 »
I called the Swine Flu hotline - all I got was crackling

I heard that the first symptom is that you come out in rashers.

Another is that you get the trotts.

I woke up with pig tails this morning ... Should I be worried?

The doctor asked me how long I'd had the symptoms of Swine Flu. I said it must have been about a Weeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

Apparently my mate's got Swine Flu - I think he's just telling porkies!

The only known cure for Swine Flu in humans has been found to be the liberal application of 'oinkment'.

IF YOU GET AN EMAIL ABOUT SWINE FLU DELETE IT AS ITS ONLY SPAM.

This little piggy went to market,
This little piggy stayed at home,
This little piggy had roast beef,
This little piggy had none,
And this little piggy had influenza A virus subtype hemagglutinin protein 1 neuraminidase protein 1.

Swine flu however, is not a problem for the pigs because they're all going to be cured anyway!

News Flash .... This just in. The world's religious leaders have issued a joint declaration that the Swine Flu pandemic is the start of the aporkalypse.

Swine flu has now mixed with bird flu.  Scientists say they will find a cure when pigs fly.

I just heard on the news that, "Swine Flu could potentially be a threat to every single person in the world". Well it's a good thing I'm married then, isn't it?

This is not a time for panic. It is no pig deal. It is a mild hamdemic, don't believe the spam you're getting.

General Discussion Area / Opel Scanner demo version
« on: 12 June 2008, 22:52:56 »
I own a Opel Scanner which works on my Omega 2.5 Elite 99
I'm happy with it. Cannot do what the genuine VX Tech II can do.
Mine is the "CAN" version. CAN is the latest standard 2006 ish onward
But still covers VX cars back to 87 - limited modules early cars.
Get updates I'am happy!

Does more than the £30.00 ebay "Tech II's" Some people have had limited success with these, but costs more.

Not sure if earlier pre "CAN" still available which is cheaper?
