My car has almost all of the toys that were available on the FL (HID lamps, BOSE, CID, leather, phone, auxiliary heater, rear blind, etc.), except electrically folding side mirrors and heated rear seats.

Did the Omega's have those?.. Haven't seen any Vauxhall Omega's with them for sure ?

Yes, they did. Here ya go:

Not sure about Vauxhalls, though.

BTW, these engines have the notorious BMW swirl flaps. This is a pic of my intake manifold:

One of the flaps was already packing its bags for the journey down under:

When it fails, it gets sucked into combustion chamber and bangs the bejesus out of the piston. And, for a good measure, takes out the turbo, too.
Thats Bayerische Motoren Werke technology for you :)

Vauxhall buyers weren't so lucky. Anyway, this is a rare option even on high-spec euro cars.

Found a video of them mirrors in action:

BTW, was this ever put into production? (AFAIK it was meant for Opel FL estates only)

What would the folding mirrors be called over there, I'm assuming its not a straight translation when searching on eBay?

Been on a 60 mile trip today. Tried to be as gentle with the throttle as possible (not exactly my cup of tea ::) ). These are the results:

Lovely car. Thanks for the pictures.

The BMW swirl flaps problem. After how many kilometres do they fail please? Are they relatively easy and cheap to replace?
