I think you'll find £140 is very reasonable.

It's possible to use an old remote.
You need someone with a Tech2, that knows how to use it properly, to program the car to accept however many keys you have.
Is that £140 for all 3 parts? The key, remote and immobiliser chip? If so, I'd say it's towards the top end of reasonable. Try your Vauxhall dealer for an expensive price. They won't do it while you wait either.

Ok so ive got an old complete key with a chip in it, ive ordered a new bladr cut to my key numbet so all i need now is Tech 2 to code it, the £140 was for a 2 button key not the 3 button i have, so next question is who has Tech2? There used to be a chap Alton way with it, Kevin Wood from memory?
-
Yup, Kevin Wood is still there abouts :y
Btw, three button fobs are saloon only and two button estate only ;)
-
Does Tech2 still require the security code? (Grey card normally in the front of the handbook) I know the knock off tool requires the code.
Last time I did a key, it £5 for a new blade. £7 to get it cut. £5 for the immob chip (has to be new). The fob and coding didn't cost me.

Tech2 still needs Carpass
Costwise, I used to charge a tenner for a blank blade with immobiliser, £30 for genuine fob, and £20 to programme. The local independent key cutters would cut the blank for £2.50 - £4 depending which way the wind was blowing. The chains like Timpson would not cut, because the blank didn't come from them.
So, £140 is excessive.
