Talking of Nuts do we get our Marathon Chocolate Bar back now.

It's nearly 40 years ago now since it was re-named   

Google says it was 1990 .. which makes sense, since I clearly remember Marathon bars (I'd have been 12) but only vaguely remember the half penny (1984, when I was 6)

Not that 1990 feels 30 years ago. But it was. 

I obviously did it wrong as I found 1981 .... but I was on my phone.

I mentioned  the half pence to a young lad at work ..... he hadn't been born when they went out of circulation which was probably why he couldn't remember them.  Whereas I remember using the old pre decimal ha'penny   

ah yes  the old " 'ape -nee " . . .seem to recall the back of it had a ship in full sail . AND . . . back in the day it was a common name for young ladies to call their personal bit   "tuppence" being another .  On that subject  . . I had a girlfriend back then  who should have called hers "Two Bob" it was similar dimensions  to the Dartford tunnel entrance !
