Omega Electrical and Audio Help / ccrt700
« on: 23 August 2009, 11:55:58 »
well thanks everbody for the warm welcome to the forum ;D
my omega came with the ccrt700 (phillips siemans stereo) with phone kit , still atached and blaupunkt cd changer in the boot.
the guy i bought it off had got the car from a friend in leu of money owed and when i bought it he said he didn,t know the code for the stereo.
however, i found a scrap of paper in the center box, with radio code written on it, and a 4 digit code.
ive tried the method described on here, to activate the code but to no avail  :(
all i get is the "safe" message on the dash display when the radio is off, and "radio safe" when its switched on
i have been using the keypad on the right of the unit to enter the code, the changer in the boot will eject the mag and try and load when re inserted.
i have a spare head unit i can stick in it but it would be nice to use the original equipment.
also, how the hell do you set the clock on the dash display ?, i cant figure it out, and its stuck on 0.00 and the date is stuck on 1998 (the year the car was made)
well thanks for reading this, and any advice given  :y

« on: 22 August 2009, 14:49:10 »
another newbie,
i liitle about me, and my miggy?
onlyjust discovered this site, looks pretty good too
not long just bought my omega, used to run a couple of carltons many years ago, the MK1 version,(saggy in nerwings) then a opel , then a MK2 carlton
went 3 yrs without a car, just my pushbike, then saw my omega for sale round the corner from where i work (very cheap) and took the plunge, so far so good
now the 3rd keeper of a mettalic green, 2.5 v6 (ECO-TEK) cdx, its got a couple of rust patches a few scratches and a slightly road worn look, but it goes like stink, and all the important stuff works. always loved the look of the omega
MOT due in mid sept, fingers crossed it goes through with out too much pain, brakes may need some attention, handbrake needs adjusting (easy job?)
i drive a truck on uk work, wrong side of 40, 4 children, and 2 grandchildren
well thats me folks, thanks for reading :y

General Car Chat / nice to be back....
« on: 13 March 2011, 22:00:59 »
.........behind the wheel of a miggy. :)
well my old cdx bit the dust, pretty dire reliability problems and an enormous thirst led to its demise, couldnt afford to waste anymore money on it, kind of like flogging a dead horse really, so although iloved a lot of things about my omega it was time to get rid. :'(
bought a pug diesel for the reliability but it turned out to be a nail, >:( then ended up in my partners cast off corsa,  :(but i missed that big old miggy, so isaved my pennys and bought an mv6 estate ;D
well its not got all the toys, but its got the kit i wanted, reasonable millage for its year, and loads of history and old bills, and in a fetching shade of mettalic green, the same colour as my old cdx.
so i,m back for a look around and i thought i,d say hello. :y

General Car Chat / mot time (deep breaths, cross fingers)
« on: 12 September 2009, 09:17:54 »
  hello all
well the moment i had been dreading had finally arrived, having not long just bought the car i wasnt sure how she would do.
knew the brakes needed attention, and maybe the exhaust, but it was all pretty much an unknown.
asked my sister to take it for me and borrowed her corsa in the mean time (aaargh) as i was busy at work, and left instructions to get a quote for any repairs that might need doing (and if it would help , she could offer to sleep with the tester to get a pass) :D
well, miggy failed, as i thought it would, BUT, it wasnt too bad. new front pads and discs, new track rod end, broken rear coil spring, hand brake adjusters siezed, stop light bulb (i checked the buggers before i went!) :o
£285 quid later , i was the proud owner of a crisp new mot certificte, and the miggy stops better too :y
couple of advisory items, front bushes and brake pipes, but nothing too bad and i,m over the moon.
saving my pennys for a service now, and gonna try and fix the sunroof, and go on DND s site and get the cd multichanger de coded.
   for a car that only cost £325 quid , i am a very happy bunny :y :y :y
thanks for reading, please excuse the poor spelling grammer, lol. ;)

http://www.chasewaterrailway.co.uk/

ok this is the venue as suggested by lee (wellung666) for the next midlands omega meet, will make contact with them to check if its ok to go ahead with the meet.
there dosnt seem to be an entrance fee, but to ride on the trains costs are £3.45 for adults, kids OAP,S £2,45, £8,45 for a family ticket.
no special events seem to be planned for any sunday in july, just the steam trains running.
we will need to set the date asap, firstly to confirm with the venue, and also so people can check there availability.
 there are 5 sundays in july, the 3, 10, 17, 24, 0r 31st
probably best if i add a poll for the date,
if you are interested please add a reply below, with youre prefered date,(S)
 thankyou

« on: 30 May 2011, 11:02:04 »
ok, sorry this has took so long to upload, had to resize all the photo,s, wich with my computing skills took a while.

a big thankyou to everyone who attended most of you travelled a great distance to be there, wich made feel quite a bit guilty :-[
an abundance of metallic green cars, with leather interiors, but some really nice and friendly oof, ers, it was a pleasure meeting you all, and comparing cars and advice and general chat.
from left to right, the atendees
 tomoco
 shelby
 astroblaster
 foundationsedge
and a little late but very welcome, lee.
as discussed on the day, we are planning another meet in july, date to be confirmed, but this time at a different venue.
chasewater railway near lichfield, this is so more people who couldnt attend the last meeting because of the excessive distance involved in travelling to six hills, can attend the next meeting.
i,ll start a new thread soon and post updates on dates and to confirm the location ASAP, .
ONCE AGAIN A BIG THANKYOU TO ALL THOSE WHO ATTENDED :y
