Hi Guys

I have bought an after market Towbar for my Facelift Estate 2003.

I'm not great with auto electrics so help would be appreciated.

With the kit I have a single electrics socket kit 12 N & The 7 way bypass relay wiring kit recommended by the supplier, Towequipe.

I've read quit a few of the posts on here on the topic, but I'm still confused.

Will the by pass kit I've bought do the job or do I still need a adaptor plug for the socket and another relay to replace the the existing indicator relay?  :-/

Any advice would be great.  :y

Hi Guys

Just bought a Parrot kit and two leads from http://www.siocommunications.co.uk. Also rang them first and Terry was more than helpfull. Pleasure to do business with them.

I used the above lead and also a connector for the Parrot. Dead easy. Just plugged the above into the flying lead behind the glove box. Didnt need a relay as 2003 model.

The factory fitted mic didnt work, reason being as I found when I removed the courtesy light to fit the Parrot Mic, was that the previous animal who removed the old kit had cut it off, cable left in.  >:(

Having said all that, it was easy to fit the Parrot mic next to the rear view mirror, routing the cable up the pillar and across above the head lining. All the above I did after some great advice from this Forum. :y

Think there might be a slight diferance with the Bose :-/ But check with Terry. :y

Not sure any of the UK cars would have a seperate alarm, as our Omegas all came with a decent one factory fit.

I have had my S reg GLS estate for 5 years now. Are you saying I have an alarm? I know I have dead locks but an Alarm? :-/

Have I gone all this time without knowing?

Thanks, I will pop down the dealer this week.

Just a quick add on, if you don't mind.

while I have it stripped down, the display I mean. Is there a connection that could be loose causing the pixel drop out? It's a very basic unit and the pixels work sometimes and not others.

yes m8 instrument panel, thanks.

Are they all the same or two types for the same panel, I had a ford once used two diff' types.

Also my time/ temp / radio display is going dim on one side, are they the same?

Also losing a few pixels, but think that's a differant prob'.

Thanks Again.

noted dealer advice cheers.

Hi guys

Can anyone help me on the bulb details for the instrument panel and roughly how many, some of mine have either given up or going dim.

The car is a pre facelift s reg. I've looked on the chart at Hal's but it's not clear seems to suggest 2 or 3 differant types.

Don't really want to pull out the dash then find I can't get them straight away.

Any help appreciated

mmmmm :-/

Wonder why they would move when you park on a hill?

I really would like to understand how they work. Just the fact they are automatic and they work is frustrating.

Any 'Gods sorry, Knights' out there can explain to us poor mortals? :y

Cheers Jay W, I was thinking I had a problem.

Its only a little wobble when you hit a bump or when the car side steps a bit when you do, got no weight in it yet  :y Just a slight shudder is a good discription of it.

Hi Guys

I'm trying to find my way around my new facelift motor. Dont have Xenon's on old Omega which had an adjustment wheel to alter the level manually.

1. Apart from the obvious ie the beam seems in the correct place, how can you tell if they are leveling or adjusting correctly?

2. Is it normal for them to wobble a little when you go over a pot hole?

Any advice would be appreciated, just a bit concerned, I cant see anything happening, after having full control on my pre facelift gls.

Would one of those fit in the top lip of the face lift, above the wood trim?

As mentioned, the old eyesight is going a bit, wouldn't want it to be over on the Pas' side ideally. Plus would profer it more 'heads up'

But without showing it off to some scrot, thinking it was a sat nav worth smashing the window for. >:(
