Took my new 2.6 V6 manual on a long run to Wales (400 miles). Tried to drive economically most of the time - 5th gear wherever possible, little overtaking, although was over 100mph several times on the motorway, 115mph at one point.

Check the trip on the way back, it said 32.6 (is that good?)

Anyone know how accurate the trip computer figures are?

General Discussion Area / Omega Rear Wiper Where Is It?

Have always owned in the past Omega Estates. This 2.6cd is the first saloon I have bought.

May sound crazy but I've just realised that it has no rear wiper. When the car is standing still the water just sits on the back screen, making reversing difficult.

What was Vauxhall thinking of omitting a rear wiper off a £20,000 car when new.  Seems crazy to me.

Anyone else noticed this problem?

I've been thinking. If you own a £150,000 Lamborghini, Ferrari etc, then £440 road tax seems OK to me. But if you're paying £440 road tax on a £1000 (2001) Omega it would make these cars a very awkward second hand buy.

I think the second hand price will plummet overnight.

Considering  buying a late model 2.6 Omega which would mean replacing my 2001 on a Y plate 3.2 white plod estate. Tax and MOT till February 2009. 122,000 miles, good alround condition but no CD player and only cloth seats. Auto of course.

Care to hazard a guess as to what it would be worth Gents, and Ladies (if there is any in the OOF)

Hello

Thinking about buying the wife a 2.6 V6 Omega Registered November 2001 on a 51 plate.

Anyone know what the CO2 emmissions are and therefore how much roadtax I will pay, when the new stealth road tax comes in 2008?

The owner says its exempt, but I know my own 3.2 estate registered July 2001 (Y) with according to the Log Book CO2 286g/km is in the highest band, so I'll pay over £400 next year (theft)
