Hi there,

I have had a very strange problem, the starter motor was just changed, immediately since then on start up it is revving at 4000 rpm & really do not know what to do. I noticed the crack sensor out plastic sleeve it broken, but I am doubting its that??
My fear it is some electrical gremlin or worse the Bosch pump...

Any advise really appreciated.

Well, I'd fix whats obviously broken first. So if you've knack'd the crank sensor when messing with starter, it certainly needs removal for inspect.

The pumps are generally reliable, but there is a wiper right at the top, associated with throttle, that can wear. Bit too coincidental for my liking, and this fault usually isn't detectable apart from a stored code 64.
