Early morning cycle gymnastics.
« on: 04 May 2016, 10:24:58 »

Biking to have an INR blood test this morning. Bus driver waved me over junction but car was coming out of said junction. Applied the brakes but there was a lot of gravel on cycle path and the next second i was over the handlebars. Now have split and swollen lip, grazed arm and banged leg. Luckily i had a few layers on and good gloves, but, no helmet  ::). I must stress that this was entirely down to me and the car driver and others who helped were great.Seeing Doc at 11.40 to check me out. Have to be careful as i am on Warfarin, so bleeding is an issue, very little so far. What a pillock :P

I must admit that I am a little nervous about my first braking reaction on the new bike.  It has hydraulic disc brakes and fudge me they are good.  Problem is 30 odd years of cr@ppy normal brakes and the first reaction is to squeeze the brakes hard.

I think I may be joining you face first in to the tarmac soon ;D

Sorry to hear of your adventures! But credit where it's due, at least you've got big enough Gonads to admit it's you at fault and not the driver :y Very refreshing in this modern age ;)

Sitting here nursing a swollen knee and arm, though the arm has gone down quite a bit. Lip is a bit sore too but eating is no problem so SWMBO is giving me loads of comfort food. Hope they all go down soon as i,m driving to Northumberland next week, in the Mig. :y

Have you considered taking up something safer? Tiddlywinks perhaps? You can now buy some pretty cool looking safety glasses ;D

Had a vasectomy about 45yrs ago, had to go private :D as was not available on NHS then. They were doing the op under a local and i felt a sharp pain as they cut one of the tubes. :o Three days later nuts the size if dumplings and bruised from waist to knee. Doc saw it, said don,t pay the bill, i will sort it. Never heard anymore about it.These days i suppose i would have sued them. ;)
