Title: Newbie
Post by: MonkeyTurnip on 18 April 2016, 13:01:39
Hi,

I have just bought a Omega GLS Auto Limo, LOL. Not yet picked up, going to get and drive it 170 miles home. then worry about parking it. Bought it for a Rally I am doing later in the year, and well it came up and I bought it.

going to be sorting any mechanical issues it may have, as its a 2000 mile round trip, and I want as little hassle as possible. I know very little about the car I bought, except it a GLS, its done 46,000 miles and sometimes  it "jumps out of gear". being an Auto and I see Autos as witchcraft I hope this is a easy (cheap) fix. it will be up for sale after the rally.

I am relatively spanner happy.

any way hi

When you have it, take it to Kevin Wood, who has the diag equipment.  Might be a simple switch fault, worse case is new gearbox which are reasonably readily available dirt cheap if patient.

Just got some more info

Its a 2.5 V6 GLS on a 1999 T registration...... Going by the interior photos is the Mini-Facelift as the electric window switches are on the door cards.

It sounds like the AC needs a regas too

hi, I'm another newbie. Just bought a 52 reg 2.2 CD Auto, due to pick it up on Tuesday. It's replacing my 2001 Citroen C5 2.2 HDI with a slipping clutch. It's. My first auto, so that's going to take a bit of getting used to after 50 odd years of motoring.
Looking to make a couple of more some time. Reversing sensors and upgrade the radio/CD to a Bluetooth/sat nav model. Any advise would be a great help.
