Having just spent another week up there, I know its a great place and they are lovely people (abeit they talk a bit funny ;D ;)), but my real beef is why do Brummies insist on calling Roundabouts, Islands?, and when I asked what they call there Islands (oylands) meaning kerbed bollards, I get a funny look. ;D
And what about SatNavs that must be confusing for them or is there a Special Midlands Speech pack you can download for it.
Anyone know, and what do you call Roundabouts in your area. :-\

I grew up in a bit of the West Riding that's now known as S.Yorkshire, and I always called them roundabouts. Here in Lincolnshire[this bit at any rate]they call them circles.
