Following on from . . .

I recently had the misfortune to have to drive to North London, where I used to live. The A10 in Enfield . . .
Yes I know you're not supposed to enter the yellow "box" unless the exit is clear, but when Mr White Van Man is 1cm from the back of your car and the car ahead suddenly stops, blocking the exit . . .
At the time I thought " Oh sod, I'm still in the yellow box" And the picture that came with the £130 fine, clearly shows me with two thirds of car still in the box >:( I get some comfort from the fact that Mr White Van Man is shown totally in the yellow box ;D

Bad luck Mr Rog. That could happen to any of us and if cameras had covered such junctions in the past I would have been done a number of times! ;)
-
Bollix! ::) Did you get points as well Rog? :-\

I'm all for safety, but that is taking the Michael Bliss!
Where is the big safety issue there that is worth a penalty of £130?
It's only an obstruction, after all, and if they are so concerned about having traffic flowing freely, they should put their own house in order and look at the obstructions that THEY place on roads.
You are allowed to enter a box juntion if you are turning right, regardless of whether your exit is clear or not - so you were about to turn right, weren't you, Mister Rog? You were, weren't you? ;) ;) ;)

I miss box junctions, we haven’t got any in Barnsley......not even one.

Sorry, just remembered one in town. No cameras on it though and it’s always clogged up with cars and stuff ;D

Nope....

Box junctions. These have criss-cross yellow lines painted on the road (download ‘Road markings’). You MUST NOT enter the box until your exit road or lane is clear. However, you may enter the box and wait when you want to turn right, and are only stopped from doing so by oncoming traffic, or by other vehicles waiting to turn right. At signalled roundabouts you MUST NOT enter the box unless you can cross over it completely without stopping.
Law TSRGD regs 10(1) & 29(2)

Errrrr ...........
No. There was no right turn to take. Any traffic turning right was in a filter lane with it's own traffic lights if I recall correctly.
The van behind me stopped slap bang in the middle of the box would be obstructing traffic turning across to my left and traffic traversing the junction. The problem here is not the system, it's the impatience, stupidity, and agression of other drivers (White Van Man) and my stupidity in being intimidated and crossing when I knew that I shouldn't.

We have one in Spalding but it is so faded it is barely visible no cameras & nobody pays any attention to it.

Booger :) Can`t you appeal these notices ???
your exit wasn`t blocked as you entered the box, I`d appeal anyway & don`t forget there are a number of legal eagles on this forum that could stitch you up advise you accordingly :)

Nope. Can't be arsed and would probably fail. I can't argue with the photos. I just won't allow myself to be pressurised in future.

If your exit wasn`t blocked when entering the box then you wouldn`t be stuck in the box :-\

The little fikkwits in that particular shithole in SE London, know by many as Kingston Upon Sewer, got me last year.
My solution is never to go to that shithole of a place ever again. Which suits me fine. Never liked the place, or tha arrogant tosspots who live there anyway.

Why don't you just come right out and say what you mean, TB!
Never mind, I'll sort it when I'm your Minister of Transport. 8)

In Barnsley? No more than round your neck of the carrot field, I shouldn’t think.
